I received the first C ever in my life last semester in calc and I wanted to know if I still have a chance at any of the big school like Berkeley, UCLA, or UCSD and maybe Cornell or Brown?

What do you guys think?

What do you guys think?

yea you still have a chance because Calc is so difficult :o lol. If your other grades are great you should have no problem.

Wouldn't that be the 3rd scariest?
Now, I am neither an English nor Mathematics major, but what ever.

i think you should be fine if its the only C you've gotten--I got a C in Precalc (due to chest infection from swimming and retaking during summer).

Kevin, i totally feel you man. i bomb my final on precal and end up with a C. its also a 5 units class, which is hella painful.

I don't think you'll find many people that think 'C' is a scarier letter than, oh I don't know, 'F.'

A 'C' hurts, but provided the rest of your grades are high, it won't neccessarily kill you. Try to get your GC to explain what happened.

Aye, I mean it's just one "C". I got a "C" in English and got into Cal, so don't worry that much especially if the grade is an anomaly. Just explain it away and you should be fine assuming the rest of your application is up to par.
