<p>I agree to look into Lafayette. However, I wouldn’t describe the merit as ‘limited’. They offer the Marquis Scholarship to about 20% of admitted students. However, OP’s scores are on the low end of the range for Marquis: “Scholarship offers are typically made to students who are at the top of their graduating class in the most demanding curriculum available, with SAT scores (Critical Reading and Math) in the low 1400’s or better or ACT Composite score of 32 or better.” He may want to retake the SAT, since he took it in 10th grade.</p>

<p>I second Rochester if you can get a good package based on merit aid there. Pittsburgh doesn’t sound like your type of place and they don’t give out too much aid too.</p>

<p>Did I miss something? Why are you not considering Bucknell? Its engineering is ranked higher than many of the schools mentioned. </p>

<p>And you never know what a school will offer as far as financial aid. D2 still got financial aid from her school in her senior year. NOT loans. She was our only kid in college (unlike the last seven years) and we earn 6 digit income.</p>
