The Sing-Off

And now for guilty pleasures! Has anyone been watching this NBC show this year? Apparently, this is the second year. One group from last year, The Beezlebubs from Tufts, are the voices for the all male glee club on Glee this year. In any event, the finals are tonight and I wanted to give a shout out to a junior MT at my D's school, UCLA, Joanna Jones. She is the lead singer for The Backbeats, one of four groups in tonight's final. Go Joanna!

Thanks for the tip, Soozie. I never check the general parent forum and would have thought the topic would show up on the MT thread. Glad to know many are watching.

There is so much more to CC than the MT Forum. I know some on the MT Forum only read this one but for example, if you are a parent, the Parent Forum and Parent Cafe are both great forums here on CC!

We also know one of the Backbeats, Catherine Ricafort. She is from our area, and has done 2 or 3 shows at our local regional theater with 2 of my kids. She is a USC grad in engineering, and is the most amazing dancer and has a wonderful voice!!! Her mom is also a college counselor at my son’s high school. She just finished the national tour of Chorus Line- just goes to show you that non-MT majors can be very successful in the MT world!

Kenton was one of the Orientation Advisors this past summer. He hung out with the early arrivals. He’s so nice! And talented! Gah love him. Bummed that they got third though! Ah well.
