I go to a top 20 High School in the nation. Rank is in the top 15% in approx. 185 students.
My unweighted GPA is a 3.42(Really low, I know) and weighted is a 4.12
I've taken as many APs and Pre-APs as my schedule could fit. I've gotten all 4s or 5s on my APs (took 1 soph year and 5 junior year).
680 CR, 760 Math, 800 Writing
(2240 total)

SAT IIs
770 Math 2
760 Chem

I've got good enough Extracurrs.
With the hope that my essays are good(which people have said they are, my common app essay is unique), do I have even the slightest chance of being admitted to Princeton?
Additionally, could you also suggest some schools in the top 30 I have a decent shot at?
Thank you!

Yea, that’s what I figured…what are some top 30 schools I have a decent chance at though? Thank you kolo!

any chance for cornell?

Cornell CALS would be your best shot if you were trying for an ivy and even that will be a reach as well. You could easily get into your states flagship school im sure and schools of that caliber.

Alright, I think I’ll choose biological sciences at CALS. Possible shot at Emory/NYU?

Woah you’re GPA might look bad but I’m guessing your school deflates grades since your top 15%. Do you have hooks like urm? You have a decent chance from these objective facts probably less than what you should but you always have a chance.

Asian, no URM. I’ve looked at scatter grams for NYU/Emory and my SATs are above their averages, but my concern is my unweighted. I know that around 20-25% of NYU’s class has an unweighted between 3.25-3.49.

I think you have a good shot at both Emory and NYU, but yet both still seem a little reach for you. On the other hand, I’m sorry to break it to you, but you have very little-to no chance getting into Princeton. Unless you can further elaborate on your profile, I don’t think even the holistic process will be able to help you.

Yea lol, I figured so about Princeton billiamfeng. Let me include some of my ECs. How do these ECs fare? Great boosters for my app?

will you be applying regular decision to these schools?

Yes, I intend on applying ED to Northwestern.
Realistic chance at that and the others (besides Princeton lol)?

go for northwestern, if you really present yourself uniquely and thoughtfully then you’ll be pleasantly surprised at your results, but this is much more easily said then done. just put 110% into your essays
ec’s are v good and your scores are high enough for northwestern
best of luck! chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1572735-chance-me-ed-cornell-please-ill-chance-back.html
