I actually am interested in College of William and Mary and UVA. Do you know if Somali people actually attend there? My parents are convincing me into going to college here in the Middle East, hell no. </p>

<p>College of William & Mary and UVA are both great schools! Honestly, I’m not really sure if those schools have a sizable Somali student population–or any Somali students at all , but I would maybe try to contact those schools’ African Student Associations to ask? The only schools that I’m familiar of that have many Somali and Habeshi students are George Mason, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) (I think they won the NCAA Basketball tournament a couple of years ago) and maybe even Old Dominion. Those are all great schools especially GMU and VCU I would recommend still applying to those.</p>
<p>I remember my dad trying to convince me going to college there too. I wasn’t about that life haha.</p>

<p>@eastafrobeauty Yep i live in Saudi and man can’t i wait to get out of this hell hole (except for Makkah/Madinah of course). Did your friend go to an International school or a local school?</p>
<p>I’ve heard they’re both the best colleges in Virginia which is why i’m considering them but honestly if i choose to go into medicine i think i’m going for George Mason, if i choose to go to school in Virginia. Saw the campus a couple of years ago and i really liked it. But since George Mason is a more of a safety for me i’m looking for top tier universities that would suit my interests. Which is quite hard considering i only want to go to a school in a big city, will NEVER go to a university in rural areas haha. I think i’m going to look into universities in the UK because i’m more adapted to their curriculum considering i’ve been studying the British curriculum since i was three. </p>
<p>Can’t wait to finish my exams of the 3rd so i can finally start to search for colleges but the biggest problem i have is that i don’t know what I want to study. I love maths/science/psychology but there doesn’t seem to be many high paying jobs in the field (and no i don’t only care about money). My family all expect me to go into some lucrative career because i do really well in school…no pressure! </p>
