The South

Are we in the northeast too busy and rushed all the time or are southerners too laid back and incompitent??

You DID generalize an entire region...

Umm no it was a question. not a statement. i was ASKING. those are two stereotypes and i was asking whether one or the other or neither of them were valid. Understand?

Does northern VA count as South?

sure why not

Mmm, fried chicken.

Yes! On all the signs down here it says, "Fried chicken 'n' biscuits." Now really, what the hell is great about biscuits?

Southern people are very nice though.

After spending a significant amount of time in both the north and south there are definitely some substantial differences.

I dont think I could handle the south. I need to feel rushed. Its like the slowskys from the comcast internet comercial.

That's very sad. Don't you get tired?

Caffeen baby!

The south is dirty.

east coast
west coast
dirty south
dah dah dirty dirty

what's that from people? i know you guys know.

To the one who said the South is dirty, I don't know where you've been, but it's not dirty. If your referring to the larger cities being dirty, well they are going to have that all around the country.

klf1120 I think that current_student means dirty south like how the rappers say and whatnot.

Knoxville! Surely is not dirty.

The south is most definitly not dirty... compared to the northeast which is considerably more densly populated the south is relatively pristine. Try looking out the window at night in many places up north and pointing out more than 5 stars. I would most definitly move to the south if it wern't so rural on a whole. Many places down there are just beautiful. Current the song is the Timbaland and Aaliyah song off of that movie soundtrack..I think it's called "are you that somebody"

Man that's what I was gonna guess but I thought I was wrong.

I was thinkin "try again" at first but I knew that wasn't it.

claytonc: There are some areas of your own state which are far more rural than the "south as a whole."

I don't disagree with you there.. in fact, there were times...(today) when i was tempted to give my state to the south. I honestly identify moreso with the overall image of the cosmopolitan northeast than the down on the farm image that my state has specifically. But Pennsylvania is what it is. Many people I know see philly as a enigmatic bubble of inconsistancy when trying to takle the fact that its located in this state.

i though by dirty he meant like "diirty south" like the rappers call it haha. i dont even know what it means but i dont think it literally means unclean. haha
