Are there any other top schools in cali besides Stanford, UCLA, and Berkeley? Although I'm really not interested in liberal arts schools, go ahead and throw a few in there if they are on par with the schools listed above.

USC is a rather competitive school academically.
And Pomona College (in Claremont).
If you're into science/math, Caltech is a top school.

usc doesn't make the cut in respect to academic reputation.
caltech is too small and specialized (for me).

um wow. you must be really selective. USC is a top school. It's compared to UCLA in sports but it's also compared to UCLA for academics. Don't count it out so readily.

UCSD is the third ranked UC. Consider claremont mckenna... similar to pomona.

Don't apply to USC. It's not elite enough for you.

Claremont McKenna, UCSD, UC Davis

I never understood how the difference between 25 and 27 was so big, MITpwnsnoobs69. Perhaps you can explain?

Deep Springs

i'm not saying that usc is a bad school academically, i'm just saying that it is a notch below even ucla. ucla has better research opportunities, better faculty, better graduate programs, and a better academic reputation in general. usc's location is also less than desirable.

MITpwnsnoobs69 you can troll better than this.

Also, Florida is the "Sunshine State"

wow what is with you people. i'm the one who made this thread and it's the schools that i deem are relevant. i don't like usc, so what? can't we just move on. stop making a mountain out of a mole hill. i just wanted to know some other good schools in california.

wow thank you for taking the time to make that obviously very important distinction.

i've never heard of deep springs. what type of school is it? is it similar to harvey mudd?

Deep Springs is essentially a feeder junior college for places like Harvard, MIT, Stanford and Yale.

based on SATs

It was about as important as this thread is. You should really use the search function on this website unless you just really like talking about good schools.

Check out Cal Poly SLO.
