The Suspense is killing my son

The D got a no today for MT, but is accepted academically…so, um, yeah it’s a no.

Hate it when that happens GSOMTMOM, I know someone said it before but don’t these schools know how much our kids put into their MT auditions? Not taking the academic yes (yet…) but thanks anyway.

FutureMillie, yup, we’ll see you at BW in February! Should be fun.

S got a wait list today. Still gives him hope.

Well color us surprised! D got wait listed today. Made her happy as she didn’t feel it was her best audition. She opened the envelope fully expecting a no… So the WL is a nice surprise. Hoping it turns into a later offer! Fingers crossed!!!

AWESOME, kate and NYSon!!

Thanks GSOMTMom! And congrats to NewYorkSon. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you too!!

Unfortunately, BW is out for The D for MT, but it was MY top school, not hers. LOL!

Finally my son’s no arrived today. Oh well, moving on.

Great to hear NYSon and kategrizz! Maybe we should start a waitlist section in the acceptance by school thread?

DANG, rs6! Sorry to hear that.

Some insight into timing of letters from BW MT. I know of three nearby “accepted” MT students whose letters came on 12/7, a no letter that came on 12/12 and another nearby waitlist student had a letter come 12/14. So even though all live in the same general area, it appears letters were definitely sent at different times.

Well its 12/17 and my D has not received a letter yet. We live in texas. Has anyone in Texas received a letter?

iammtmom-we live in Florida, D got her “no” in the mail yesterday (audition 11/16). There was an academic acceptance letter with it, asking her to consider other options at BW. That was nice, but she is moving forward.

don’t worry

Just out of curiosity, those people whose kids received an academic acceptance along with a no to MT, did you fill something out ahead of time? My D put on the conservatory supplement that she would still consider the liberal arts college if not accepted to MT, but then she received a post card in her “no” envelope saying she had to send that in if she still wanted to consider the college. Just would have been nice to have it all taken care of already.

Did she complete the University application as well? Sounds like they are missing the application to that actual university vs the conservatory. S did not receive a post card like that and someone else we know indicated they would want to be a theatre major when they applied (non audition) in his MT “no” letter it indicated he was accepted into that program.

Everything from D’s application has been turned in (except for final transcripts of course), and we received the post card to send back if we were still interested.

^^What frazzled said. There was a postcard in The D’s envelope.

Same as frazzled and GSO here. All application materials were turned in via the common app way back in October, including counselor reports and recommendations. I’m not concerned about her getting in academically, but was wondering what I had missed in the process to have received the post card.

For D to have received the post card!!
