I’m surprised for all the meanness towards Azarenka. She’s a fat girl in a pencil thin world. Cmon Serena has been wearing outfits for years that should be banned for years. Just 1 man’s opinion.

Not trying to be mean about Azarenka’s tennis. In fact I think she is a beautiful young athlete and hope she wins it all. Just wish someone would push her towards a different dress. Emilybee nailed it with her comment about the unfortunate sweat stains.

I completely agree about Serena’s fashion, but I was just taking a few CC moments to take the advice most of our mother’s imparted; you know, the don’t say anything if you can’t say something nice advice. I can say some nice things about Venus when she isn’t tugging on her clothes.

Saw Azarenka’s post match interview with Chrissie and Hannah Storm. Could not have been more impressed. The sport is in good hands (even if she is not from the good ole USA) once the surly Williams family leaves the sport.

Vika isn’t fat but she is huge - like most of the women on tour. There are very few pencil thin women in TennisWorld (only Ana and Daniela really.) It’s hard to see that on TV but when you are upclose most are Amazon girls. Legs like tree trunks and tall. I am sure they lie about their height on their bios.

I saw Vika’s interview, too. I had no idea Red Foo was Barry Gordy’s son.

^ You can say that again. Not to pile on Serena but she claims to weigh 155.

I like Azarenka’s personality or at least what she projects AND her game more than I like Williams. She can hit really pretty volleys.

After many many matches, it is #1 vs #2 in both the man and woman singles.

NID these four would make it to the final.

Stan was amazing - both he and Nole won 165 points. If he’d been able to increase his first serve percentage, the outcome may well have been different.

What a contrast between the 2 semis. The first one was competitive and entertaining. The 2nd one was a snoozefest.

I think Rafa will win.

Such a sad men’s doubles final in what had the potential to be really exciting stuff. The Brazilian, despite their great record this year, looked super tight from the get go. Once Peya hurt his back it was really all over. Too bad the Stepanek/Paes vs. Bryan Bros semi wasn’t the final.

I wish I could have seen the junior girl’s final. Two 15 year olds went to 7-6 (8-6 in the final set TB) with Ana Konjuh from Croatia beating Tornado Black from the USA. in looking at the match stats it appears to have been a really well played match. Interestingly the junior titles were swept by Croatia as Borna Coric won the junior boys.

SPOILER

yay to Azarenka for a gutsy second set!!!

Who else is hoping for a five set six hour classic tonight? Would make CBS programming a mess, right?

As long as Rafa wins I don’t care how long it lasts.

Dudedad, I would love a 2012 Australian Open final repeat (5+ hours with the good guy coming out on top!).

That said, it is unlikely that both players will have a good day. I have a feeling one will control the game and the winner will win in 3 or 4 sets.

Woo-hoo! What a match! :D

Best. Match. Ever. Rafa!!!

Yay, Rafa!!!
I love watching him play.

Nice win. I especially enjoyed the breadstick Rafa served up in the 4th.

Unbelievable tenacity…Rafa clawed his way to that third set. Fantastic.
