I hope Fed wins. I don’t like the way Novak thumps his chest and rips his shirt when he wins. Federer shows class.

The Sunday match will be interesting to be sure.

It is hard to gauge how well both men are truly playing. Federer has not really faced any worthy competition other than Wawrinka (not really a grass court specialist) and Raonic (who did not play very well). Djokovic seemed to struggle against several opponents, including Stepanek, Cilic and Dimitrov.

The stakes are very high for both, so they will both be under tremendous pressure to win. This may well be Federer’s last shot at a major, and he knows it. Winning his 8th Wimbledon means a lot to him as it would place him alone at the top, rather than having to share the record with Sampras. Winning his 18th overall major would also give him a slightly more comfortable lead over Nadal’s 14 and growing. From Djokovic’s point of view, this is his fourth final in a major since last year’s Wimbledon. Losing on Sunday would make him 0-4. He has not won a major since the 2013 Australian Open. That’s 18 months ago. Plus, if he is to come close to Nadal and Sampras’s records, he really needs to get started.

I do not mind Djokovic’s end-of-match antics, so long as he continues to mentor the young, sit with ball boys during breaks and donate millions of dollars to the less fortunate. Unfortunately, he will have a very hostile crowd, as he usually does, and facing arguably the greatest grass court (or indeed any court) tennis champion of all time won’t help matters. He is going to have to play a much crisper and better game against Federer than he has all tournament if he is to stand a chance.

I’ve no idea who is going to lift the trophy tomorrow but I will be baracking for Mr. Federer.

Can’t stand when Nole rips his shirt off. shudder But at least he has lost the title of Worst Hair on tour to Milos.

Beat. Down.

Petra, congrats on your 2nd Wimby title.

Good job Petra - though I was hoping for a more exciting match.

Hoping for a repeat of the 2011 results when my brother & I saw both Djokovic and Kvitova play on court 12 (well he was practicing) and they both went on to win the championship. He has been my favorite player ever since as he was so lovely to the spectators and she is my brother’s favorite. (Didn’t see them live on this years annual Wimbledon visit but I guess they have done ok without us!!)

Whoever wins tomorrow (won’t break my heart if it’s Federer), hope if is more exciting than today’s final (didn’t even get through our bottle of cava and it was over) and the Federer/Raonic semi - that was a yawner. A five setter would be nice. Give us time to overdo our strawberries and cream and champagne.

Overall, I’ve been pleased with ESPN’s coverage, as compared to NBC. However, I’m disappointed that ESPN chose to show the mens semi match from yesterday instead of live coverage of the mens doubles final.

I watched the doubles final online on ESPN3–it was quite a match! I always root for the Bryans, but Sock and Pospisil played like they’d been playing together for years.

Always a great day in TennisWorld when evil chestbumpers lose.

Maybe Tennis Channel will show the dubs. They have a good 4 hours to fill after repeating women’s final.

Don’t normally watch doubles but that men’s doubles had us yelling at the TV like loons (needed a bit of excitement after seeing Kvitova eviscerate Bouchard). If was fun to see those two win - what a fairy tale ending.

What a great men’s final match. I loved Djokovic’s speech. Very emotional.

Agree. Great match, but I was hoping for a different result.

Great match. Nice to see a high level of play. I was rooting for Fed, but am happy for Djokovic. The crowd definitely got their money’s worth, unlike with the ladies singles. Watched most of the men’s doubles match on Tennis Channel. Looked like a fantastic match!

This was a great final. Almost as awesome as the 2012 Australian Open final between Djokovic and Nadal. Not having won a major in 18 months, despite having made it to 3 finals, was obviously weighing down on Djokovic. I felt he handled adversity well today, especially after losing the 4th set. I assume those who dislike Nole’s shirt-ripping antics were pleased to see that he refrained from doing so today. I thought his words to Federer were very classy; “thanks for letting me win today”. Well done to both men today, but this meant more to Djokovic than it did to Federer.

Very good match but bluegh winner.

“Very good match but bluegh winner.” What does that mean?

^ I’m not a fan of Nole.

Why not?

I didn’t like the way he behaved when he first came on tour and my opinion hasn’t changed. I tend to support players whose personalities, on and off the court, I like, rather than their game. Plus, he has horrid hair.

I like his personality AND his hair. :)

We all have out preferences. I thought Novak showed a lot of maturity and graciousness today.

The guy is in his 20’s.

I loved how he talked about memtal issues and how he psyched himself up after losing the 4th set.
