But be that as it may, Muslims are intolerant in practice. Muslim men kill their own daughters for lack of humility; they don't tolerate their own, much less other nations.</p>

<p>I thought that as a civilization we were past this kind of pointless bickering. You guys are debating distortions that apply to a small minority of people, and treating them as if they represent the entire religion. It would be like calling all catholics pedophiles in light of last year's scandal. </p>
<p>It would be interesting if you guys were debating the differences among your religions philosophically--in other words, pursue a logical argument and back it up with facts. To do what you guys are doing is kind of exhaustive and boring. </p>

<p>What significant accomplishments did Islam make? I've heard many claims that Arabs didnt even invent the zero (as it is often attributed!) Historically, they have conquered other peoples societies and took the intelligent ideas of their people, using them as their own.</p>

<p>Mmm Hindu mathematicians invented zero. Muslims during their Golden Age did indeed write some pretty good stuff. For example, the Arabian Nights, etc. They also worked on some math, science, and navigation. But I suspect that religion had little to do with their accomplishments. As for the claim that Islam is the only religion thats kind to Jews, thats total garbage.</p>

I'm just tired of people like Gumball saying that they know more about my religion than I do from googling anti-Islam websites and saying that they've read the Qu'ran. Yeah, this thread sickens me. I love learning about different religions, and when I first read the OPs questions I was thinking "Cool. I'll actually learn more about other religions," but instead I've found the same ridiculous debate that's been going on for 1400 years. Just put it to rest already. <p>How about you actually read your book, all of it. And me, googling "anti-islamic" websites? Please...I inquired to those websites I posted earlier after I read the Qu'ran. The sites, most which are run by ex-muslims. If you actually go through them, they're not really "anti" Islamic, totally not biased, if you actually read the 3 links I posted. I've read the Qu'ran, as I was motivated by Denmark, and all the previous incidents. As of couple months ago, I used to think of Islam as a respectable religion, like Judaism, and that the only people like Bin Laden who commited atrocities were fuc|Ked beyond their skulls. Incase you're wondering, I'm not a very religious person. :)</p>
