Those results dont suprise me because kerry is generally a better speaker then bush, but on the issues i agree more with bush. scientific polls are the way to go. fox even says its internet polls are more of a "popularity contest", but of course thats fox.

\i{Disclosure: I will vote for Kerry}

A couple of things about the debate:

I don't think either candidate really connected with me or other voters, especially with the question "What would you say to a person who has just lost his ro her job?" Each answer quickly spun to campaign rhetoric or to things we've heard before.

No one has addressed the environmental issues that are important to many of us.

A debate is a contest to determine the best debater. If I were Bush - the Yale cheerleader - I think I'd have passed on going up against Kerry - a Yale debate champion. We all have to remember that just because someone is a better debater means NOTHING in terms of who's right or wrong.

My vote for Kerry is because I think that the Bush administration has really made some bad decisions, especially with regard to the economy, the environment and the war. BUT if Bush had been a better debater, it would not have budged my vote one way or the other. And I suspect that the same holds true for Bush supporters. As for the undecided (oh come on... who could still be undecided), maybe debate performance could have some effect, but the differences are clear.

If only history could be changed…
