The Thoughts Thread (Triple T)

new on this thread.
i have absolutely no life except for worrying about admissions. we’re in the month though!
anyway, i totally read this whole post thing. you guys are awesome. i was worried that i wouldnt be able to find interesting people at ivies (esp h). I felt that ppl would most likely be nerds haha. While, im probably a nerd myself, I def. like to have fun! I could totally see myself hanging out with you guys.

Anyway. Good luck @ prophet raising your grade! and Good luck to everyone!! Decisions in 25 days! :)

Oh gosh, I feel like I’m about to keel over. Every single thought I have somehow ends up circling back to Harvard…

Wouldn’t it be cool if every applicant all across American opened up their emails at the same time and we heard a national gasp (“sucked in breath”?)

I’m sure we will. Or maybe it’ll just be the sound of me, passing out.

ooh ooh something better - the sound of thousands of students dropping to the floor.

thudthudthudthudthudthudtudhud

like the pheasants in Danny, Champion of the World

let us try and find a common ground to the description of nerd…

nerd:
studies all the time?
socially inept?
knows facts/answers to the most obscure subjects?
smells??? haha jk

and what exactly is the difference between nerd and geek??

Nerd: academically awesome
Geek: used when good in a certain field, ex) science geek, tech geek, etc.

my thoughts

Newspaper geek, orchestra geek, language geek, history geek…

Yeah, definitely more of a geek over here.

I personally think we should do away with every single Harvard thread (and Yale and Princeton ones as well). They are like drugs, and if we don’t do something about them soon, withdrawal will be become impossible

On second thoughts, maybe we should just do away with CC. It makes time pass a whole lot slower. :)

I disagree. without cc, what would i have to do while i wait for march 31. i might actually have to go back to doing hw

^ Heaven forbid you do that! :p

I got in to University of Rochester yesterday, it’s my first acceptance to a school or than a safety. Such a huge relief right now, Harvard can reject me, I don’t care!!

In fact, I’m doing my hw write in front of my laptop. Every other sentence, I elongate my arms and type up a post on CC, refresh the Harvard Board, and laugh at funny threads. Then I pull them back and pick up my pencil again.

I’m sooo addicted.

Congrats on getting in, Butternut! I’m only slightly jealous   and very addicted as well, by the way :)

Congratulations, Butternut! You are one of the posters who are lowering my GPA because they make this site so fun. It’s all their (and your) fault, not mine!!!

haha congrats Butternut!
how many colleges did everyone apply to?

i did only two…

i applied to 14 schools!
my mom was so mad at me… lol

Wait, wait, I already did this.

m i rite?

Wow. I haven’t been on this in a while. CONGRATS BUTTERNUT! I got into a few schools, too, so I’m okay but still this March/April time period stress is just “killing me softly.” Lol.

And nerd/geek descriptions…I mean like, I always thought a nerd to just be someone really smart. There is more of a negative connotation with the word as far as socialness, but a lot of nerds are cool and fun (LIKE ME)! But yea, thats just my little tidbit right there.

And prophet, good luck with everything. I haven’t heard a rap from you in a while. In other words, get on it. Lol.

GOOOODDDDDDD LUCKKKKKKKKKK AHHHHHHHHH!!!

Thanks guys. Entangled, I apologize. Tell your teachers it’s my fault (and enjoy the weird looks they give you when you explain Butternut did it) ;)

I applied to eight schools. (or was it nine?) counts Yeah, nine. I would have applied to JHU and American, but changed my mind at the last minute.

I should give up CC for lent. lulz, like that’s gonna happen.

^ If you’re a heathen like me (I’m not sure whether I qualify as a heathen or a pagan…), you can CC all you like!

Then again…CCing as much as one wants is probably not good for the health.
