SAT scores: CR: 610
WR: 560
MA: 520
TOTAL: 1690

Now, I took these last January. I know i did horrible. I re-took them in October, and I think i did MUCH better. At the WORST, the lowest I could have gotten is an 1800, but I predict I got between 1800-2000.

SATII scores: Biology M: 640
Chemistry: 630
Math I: 620
Math II: 560

I know, abysmal, especially that math II. However, in november, i am taking chem and mathII over again.

I'm taking the ACTs again.

Chances?

you are in

If you get your test scores up (except for the ACT they are abysmal, and the ACT is in the bottom half for accepted students), I think you should have a pretty good shot.

i think “abysmal” is pretty unwarranted…

I think you are in with an 1800. I met some great people from JR Masterman, so I might be a little biased.

You’re black, and you live in Philly (like, in the city?)? They love you, and that helps a lot.

awesome stats on the ec section!

but question: how are u gonna fit all of those on the limited spaces provided by the penn app? :[

I JUST GOT MY TEST SCORES BACK!!!

okay, for the october SAT, i got

670 CR
640 MA
640 WR

for a total of 1950.

now, its not phenomenal, but i think its an improvement over a 1690 (and look at that math improvement - 520 to 640, i guess thats pretty good)

i’m deciding whether i should take the SATs again, any suggestions?

Well, the only tests that will be considered for ED anymore are those in November. The registration has closed, so unless you have previously registered, you won’t have the chance to take the SAT again for Penn to see, unless you get deferred (which I doubt you’d want.)

I still think you have a good shot with your scores.

don’t bother taking the sat again. You’ve got an impressiver overall score, and impressive everything else. Good luck!

UPDATE:

I got my ACT scores back. raised my score from a 29 to a 31.

Is that much of an improvement? i’m hoping it is (and i hope penn recieves the scores in time, those were october 27 ACTs)

I don’t trust the ACT
they have yet to even give me my score.

A 31 ACT is amazing, it certaintly beats a 1900-or-so SAT

good luck! (though it seems you won’t need much of it)

I GOT MY SAT II SCORES BACK!!!

The scores just keep on rollin in.

I got a 640 in math II, which is not wonderful but it’s a step up from a 560.

Chemistry i got a 720!!! I’m kinda proud of that. But if i’m looking at penn, its really nothing to be proud of but i never score over 700 on everything :D

i think you have pretty good chances…

yea it does, twice a week (B-days and D-days, weird schedule)

^^^um…yeah, ignore that other post i wrote… (sorry, i’m really losing my mind… :P)
