The semester is almost over and it's slowly getting closer for me to submit my applications for Fall 2010. I am applying to TAMU, UT Austin, GA Tech, and UIUC. I live in TN, so I would be OOS for all of these. I have a 3.6GPA with 44 hours and am applying as a junior applicant. Would I get into any of these schools if I applied with my intended major computer science, or should I apply into General Studies, or Food and Nutrition(something not as competitive)? Thanks in advance!

Is there no one on this board who can answer my question? Am I better off applying into CS(Will I get in with my low GPA), or should I apply into General Studies or something less competitive(if so, give me suggestions please)

Apply for the major that you are interested in. Very few institutions will admit an undeclared Junior Transfer, and some will not let you change majors after you arrive. Do you really want to spend a year or more as a Food and Nutrition major while you try to make an internal transfer into Comp Sci?
