I am a transfer this year and just wanted to make a thread for transfers and the new semester. I know we are often the forgotten or middle group- not a freshmen but not really an "upperclassman". Are you excited? When do you leave? Do you know anyone there? Are you going to reinvent yourself? Do you hate being grouped with freshmen?

I’m transferring to Ohio University this year. I move in this Friday, a week before all incoming freshmen, because i’m doing the marching band. I’m nervous, yet excited because i know i’ll meet a lot of people before school starts. Plus, i have 2 close cousins that go to the school as well.

All my mod mates are freshmen, but i don’t really care.

And I guess i really don’t care being grouped as a freshman, because i feel like I didn’t even have a first year of college at my old school. I keep reminding myself that i’m gonna be a sophomore

I’ll be officially transferring next year. I moved from one state to another this last summer, so I guess I’ll be doing it twice? I’ll feel like a freshman for three years in a row, as awful as that is…meh, I don’t think I’ll be ‘reinventing’ myself though. I didn’t really make a lot of friends at my last school, so I wasn’t ‘known’ for anything, except wearing dresses all the time. I feel like I’m constantly reinventing myself anyway.
I’m not really excited about this year: it’s just another community college. I’m REALLY excited for next year though!!

I am transferring from IU to NYU for this fall and it’s going to be a complete change in university life. I’m basically going to be making friends with my colleagues perhaps since I will only be doing classes in the evenings (2) and an online class. I have turned from a full-time dedicated student to a real estate agent who also takes classes. I’m still going to go for the top grades since I plan to go to grad school in London.
