this post is to all you nuts freaking out about columbia:
COLUMBIA IS A PLAIN NORMAL GOOD SCHOOL. IT MAY BE HARD TO GET INTO, BUT GETTING IN OR BEING REJECTED WONT KILL YOU EITHER! EVERY YEAR THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE GET REJECTED FROM THERE, THEY DONT ALL END UP DEAD the next morning (otherwise ben laden would create a new ivy league school lol;) . PLEASE PLEASE I beg you all (especially silver wavez) stop freaking out, it's not going to change the decision concerning you , if anything if they find out who you really are (via ur stats) they'll see your real character which will definitely seal your fate... so pls let's get back to more useful topics..

sorry all for lashing out but it's starting to get on my nerves... ( i have no bad intentions towards anybody)
oh ya and sorry for the CAPS lol!

I seriously doubt adcoms are going to spend enough time on this place to compare the stats of the screen names to the stats of the people they're reviewing...they've got enough on their plates. i'm sure they get a kick out of it though.

thanks all .i wasnt sure wether to post this but i guess i was right.
insntynonchalan, yea i was sort of kidding but on a more serious note, since some people wrote 3 pages of there stats precise SAT , GPA , EC's school rank etc... this forum is easily indexable and searchable and so is all applications submitted online so , although i doubt they do it cause it would be very inethical , it wouldn't be so hard to match up screen names and applicant .

p.s to all adcoms: private message me , ill gladly help you set up such a system, it would let you review apps much faster and much more realistically... my fees are not that high either... lol...

My friends went to a Columbia weekend "sleep-over" and were able to see the students and their thoughts about the education. It turned out many were bored and frustrated with classes. For example, one student metnioned dumping class and only showing up for tests. Columbia is not that great of a school. Maybe its affiliation with the Ivy League makes it seem as such but in reality it is definitely not the best.

why not silver wavezz? it let's them see in real time their school's reputation, number of applicants and stuff like that... all all this for free unlike expensive surveys (U.S News college list)..

rp123, first please dont post about things that have nothing to do with the subject of post... second IT DOESNT MATTER how many hours you worked as long as you worked a good job and earned over 100k tax free...

" For example, one student metnioned dumping class and only showing up for tests. Columbia is not that great of a school."

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion... Like in any other school, of course there will be students that are not that big of a fan of their school.. and there are others who love their school.
With Columbia it's the same... you may think it's not that great..and that's fine.

Well for those of that are lucky enough to go.. we'll find out for ourselves..

Till then, I'll just have to wait and see (and still love Columbia :))

in response to collegefreak87, i also stayed overnight at columbia, and it seemed to me that most people loved it there, and were having a great time. The only real complaints i heard were about the economics requirement for seas students, and some pure science majors in the college who werent fans of lit hum readings. other than that, ppl were happy...

Okay, just a little interjection. In government, we just learned about polling and what makes a decent poll. Basically: 1200 people, randomly selected. What're the 'worst' kind? "Straw Polls". Self-selecting polls. This is it, baby. About as un-representative as you can get. All internet users... with a lot of spare time.... anxiety... morbidity and voyeurism.
