"What are these study guides you are talking about? There are no study guides on reserve. Go back to your dorm."

I could tell a patron that....but 1.) I would get fired and 2.) sabotaging younger pre-meds wouldn't be of any benefit to me

besides...I'd rather waste my time screwing over the other seniors tomorrow morning so I can get senior week tickets!

its not true. but there are people who are willing to work VERY VERY VERY VERY HARD to beat you in gpa lol.. ive seen bunch of people memorize like every detail when the test isn't even close

I don't know, piggy was very intellectual...

Eh, being intellectual is not required. But, you do need to be competitive. Schools like Drexel Medical School and Georgetown School of Medicine receive 11,000-15,000 applications for 150-200 spots. Without an unwavering dedication, a competitive spirit, and a desire to be the best, you can't beat those odds.

Haha, LOVE this thread. An important aspect of medicine many people forget is the HUMAN side. Yes, grades are important, but seriously (SERIOUSLY), make friends (!), go out once and a while (!), have interests/hobbies (!), and do meaningful activities, not just boring-a$$ research (!). You'll never make it through an interview if you are completely one-dimensional.

Interesting and amusing posts to read while trying to finalize my college selection from some very enticing large envelopes. Good to know that everyone seems to have a flair for good humor at Cornell.

Cornell Lunatic

Thanks for the link, CayugaRed. With less than 3 weeks to make final decisions, everything helps. [well, almost] No question Cornell is great but even with that, the decisions are tough. With 3 very good programs to choose from [and four more that aren't bad], the eliminations may come down to things like quality of life, travel, weather, etc. Good to know that sense of humor is in the mix. Will travel to Ithaca next week for the Cornell Days.

Actually I take it all back. The worst is when some of your classmates obnoxiously interrupt your classes and annoy the professors just so they can beat you on the curve:

Another amusing Cornell video being circulated around these days:
