UCSD is all the same no matter what college, it doesnt really matter.

bboyvortex,

Haha, I enjoyed reading your posts on the differences amongst UCSD colleges. They are funny and yet they answer A LOT.

bboyvortex, check ur private messages lol

i am sorry about the lack of posts lately...i've been quite busy with school even though it's week 2...my fault for slacking off week 1 huh? =( but yeah here's warren's info

EARL WARREN COLLEGE
so first off, if you're an engineering major and you're going to warren college, GOOD JOB, YOU'VE MADE IT...haha warren is basically an engineering based college and they have what i would call "engineer-friendly" general ed requirements...but here we go...

--ACADEMICS--
i'm not too sure on the specific warren college general ed requirements but i do know that they are very engineer friendly and there aren't too many writing courses involved...WOOT for all the engineers right? so basically you need to take 2 quarters of Warren Writing...which is warren's intensive writing course...which isn't too bad since it's just two quarters, but i heard from a few friends that have taken the courses say that they are quite difficult...the bottom line is, it depends on your instructor/TA...because if you have a HARD TA, then obviously the course will be hard, but if you're lucky, it'll be a breeze...but on the other courses, warren doesn't have as much writing/history/social science/non-math-related courses to graduate like revelle or something so it'll be a MUCH lighter load for the engineers since there are fewer requirements...i think the rank of difficulty for warren college is 4/6...it's torn between warren and sixth, but i'm not too sure, i'm pretty sure it should be the 4th hardest...so...basically it's not too bad...u can check out http://warren.ucsd.edu if you want more info

--HOUSING--
so at warren, you have the choice of living in either the warren
apartments or the warren res halls...the apartments house 4 people and the
res halls are suite-based and house i think around 8 people? i'm not too
sure about the res halls because i haven't been into any of them, but from
outside they look really nice...because everything is so bright and nice
and stuff...and there are BUNNIES! BUNNIES EVERYWHERE! it's beautiful...the apts are pretty big as well, matter of fact, i'm living there next year! woot...but the housing at warren is pretty good compared to the other colleges...i think you have thechoice of living in an apt or a res hall when you sign up for housing in may( i think?) so keep that in mind...um...the internet access in warrenhousing is around 100.0 mbps i think...but nevertheless FAST...for all your downloading needs...and once you start downloading stuff offi2hub.com...you will experience downlaods at 12.0mb/sec...yes it's THAT FAST...it's awesome...eh what else? anything else to add? warren is beautiful, that's all i gotta say...oh one more thing, warren is located next to this HUGE CANYON thing...so that is probably the reason for all the bunnies and stuff, but if you're bothered by animals and stuff, u should consider living somewhere not on the first floor of res halls/apts because i heard that some rodents get into the rooms of the first floor apts/res halls? i'm not sure, it might just be a rumor...but yes

--FOOD--
the food isn't bad at warren...there is a dining hall called Canyon Vista,
which is right by the huge canyon that's next to warren...food at canyon vista is not bad, but my advice to you is to not eat the lobster burrito...it MIGHT SOUND delicious, but really it tastes like a burrito filled with red
rubber and rice..yes quite disgusting...but other than that, the food
isn't too bad...and there is also a grocery store next to canyon vista or
on top of canyon vista called Earl's Place...at Earl's, you can buy a
bunch of groceries with your dining points...so if you get sick of
cafeteria food and decide to buy a bunch of junk food with your meal
points...earl's place is where the party is at...Earl's place is the only
place that accepts meal points for groceries on campus, so you might want
to take advantage of that...also i think Earl's place is the only place
that brews starbucks coffee, so that's a plus

--PEOPLE--
you'll meet some of the coolest people from warren college...i think i have a lot of friends from warren college actually probably because i'm a comp engineer major...but it's ok, warren people are cool...you'll meet some REALLY REALLY smart people when it comes to math/science...not so strong in other areas, but they are still smart as hell...ok now for the big questions all the guys have been waiting for...the GIRLS?! ok, in my opinion, warren girls look the best...or maybe competing with ERC, but if you dig the asian chicks, warren has plenty...poor revelle =(...but i guarantee you, the paper bag percentage isn't as high in warren than in the other colleges...yet again...POOR REVELLE =(

hope this helps for most of you, email me if you have anymore questions

Hey bboyvortex, dont you have hum. reading to do?? The Aeneid won't read itself you know.

if i think hard enough, it'll read itslef and then summarize it to me on a page called sparknotes =D

hows the engineering coarseload? is mech e much more easier than comp e? whats the easiest and hardest? is engineering courseload as hard as everyone says.

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me out and tell me a little bit about the residence hall and the resince hall rate saver. Also, what is the recommendation in terms of housing for revelle--anything I should look out for?

Aenid? Done.

Ok, I lied. The first page is done.

Engineering courseload...mech e isnt easier or harder than comp e...it's just really different. ;)

How about the ERC life?

bump? just to see if anything can happen.

haha this thread is being analyzed in COHI 100 at this very moment

whoaaaa really?? is that a communications class? and what are they saying about it? haha just curious =D

They were saying you are racist and a sexist. Good luck in life being labeled as such.

Wait, you were there too?

lots of ugly girls but "their nest is at Revelle".

That my friend, is one of the funniest things I've read in months.

hey what about SIXTH COLLEGE

How absurd does Mechanical engineering at Sixth College sound? I went to admit day April 12 and oh my god it was boring. I wish I had read some of this stuff back in November.

Any info on sixth college that RA's might have censored?

Heyy I have a question about Revelle's orientation: Does the school provide you with a dorm room to stay in for the duration of the orientation or would you need to basically get a hotel? B/c not everyone lives in the SD area and it would just make sense if they did..
Thanks!! :)

how much you suffer at revelle, in terms of academics, really depends on how many aps you took in high school. you can pass out of nearly all the ges except for humanities, which you can take over summer at a jc.

here's a list of the ges:

5 humanities classes
3 courses of your pick between calc, chem or physics

actually, screw this Revelle College - UCSD

as for the people, revelle's pretty interesting. you meet all sorts of personalities, who all happen to be geniuses as well. you met the pot head who's gotten out of all his ges because he's that god damn smart, the gaming nerds, the eccentric guy who likes to yodel, the cute girl next door, the clean freak roommate, the girls on the student council, the arrogant jock who tries to convince his friends that, "girls really like small *****es. seriously, not that i know."

food, the first guy got it right. at first, incredible, then after two weeks you find yourself constantly complaining about how awful the food is, then you live in matthews (revelle housing in sixth college) and you dream about plaza (revelle's cafeteria) because they're nothing at foodworks (sixth college's cafeteria).

housing can suck and not suck so bad. i lived in argo which was nice since there were plenty of people to meet on your floor and the elevator. although, since there are roughly 100 people on a floor, sometimes you don't meet everyone which leads to awkward elevator rides when you ask someone on your floor where s/he lives. size wise, argo was nice. i lived in a triple corner, but one of my roommates was gone all the time because she was hiding her bisexuality away from us.

honestly speaking though, i slacked on my ges and transferred to muir.

but dude, revelle girls can be hot, and others not so hot. it's what you find all over campus. don't hate. this isn't berkeley, but i do hear of triton vision (versus cal vision)
