To All Adventurous Columbians,
I was wondering if any of you have explored the extensive tunnel system which lies below the campus: any interesting first-hand accounts or stories? Also, has anyone been in first floor of Pupin? I heard that it used to be scattered with unfinished lab reports and papers and even had a cyclotron, but now supposedly they emptied it out. Also, is it really radioactive?

Entertain me with your (true) stories of adventure.

I haven't been on the official tunnel tour, but I went on some other underground tour of all their heating/generator/water supply stuff. It is loud as hell down there. I'm not sure if those are the same tunnels.

The 1st floor of pupin has classes... i've never heard those stories. The Manhattan Project started in what is now Mudd, so I'd be more worried about that in terms of radioactivity.

Basement of Pupin (formerly, 1st floor) is home to the cyclotron (or at least, its shell now). The Manhattan Project started there.
