The UBER exclusive multiple 2250+ club.

I’ve always wanted to make one of these. If you have scored multiple 2250+ on the SAT, post your name and your >=2250 scores

Arachnorton, you got a 2300+ three times and decided to go to UVM? I don’t mean to be random or anything, but did you even bother applying to any of the top 10 schools?

I applied to Harvard and Columbia from the top 10 and was rejected. I got into Tufts and Brandeis, though. However, the recent economic situation forced me to go to a less financially burdensome school and UVM was the best on my list for that (I got 13k in merit scholarships).

I regret not applying to any top 20 schools besides the two aforementioned impossibles. Alas, what’s done is done. For graduate school, I’m really hoping to go to Harvard, MIT, or Tufts. But mostly because of the fact that for my intended field (computer graphics), these schools offer so much more at the graduate level than I could hope for at a state school. For undergraduate, I’m going to try to exhaust the opportunities so I get my money’s worth.

2300,2330,2340??
2340,2390,2400??
I don’t get it. Why would you guys retake SATs if you already scored over 2300? It simply seems dumb to me. 4 hours of your saturday, at least a couple hours of preparation, a hundred bucks. All for a marginal increase in score that will not affect admissions at all.

2280, 2380
(haha, I’m a hypocrite. though in all fairness, my score was 800 800 680 the first time)

grrrrr
does this imply that i should retake my 2290?

^ It really depends on you. If you worked really hard to get to that point and you never expected to do that well, I wouldn’t retake. If you were doing much better on practice tests and were expecting a better score, retaking might not be a bad idea. There’s not really a hard and fast cutoff for when not to retake because different people have different capabilities and expectations.

2270, 2270… months of preparation yields the exact same score… ew

I just retook the tests for fun 'cause HS is boring.

or people usually retake the test when they get a 2300 because if you can get a 2330 one time, then your prolly good enough to get like a 2380 or 2400 cuz you only missed a few questions and maybe the curve just screwed you over.

Getting a 2400 just seems so much more powerful than a 2370

^but in reality there is no (meaningful) difference in almost all cases. why waste time and money? for me, I could improve significantly in one area

Arachnotron: boring? so writing the SATs is fun? O.o

Well, waiting for the scores is good fun!

i like waiting for the scores also… hopefully there will be a 2 at the end this time and not a 1 and two 9’s
