The UC "A-G" coursework.

I must have been completely brain dead as I was submitting my application last night ... only now have I realized that I missed listing a course I am taking next semester (economics). Per the UC Doorways website, I have not taken a "g" elective requirement; at my school, economics would cover it, but it is only a semester at my school, while the "g" requirement requires one year. Curiously enough, as I was filling out my application, "g" and all the other requirements were fine, however. Did I misinterpret the requirement for the "g" elective requirement? Is it like the CSU where an additional year chosen from the "a-f" course list can satisfy the "g" elective? Did the UC application automatically identify this situation and count additional courses taken at "a-f" as units used for "g" (as I believe what happened to me)? Does this mean I have satisfied the "g" requirement?

If I did not satisfy the "g" requirement but UC indeed counts additional years of "a-f" as a means of coursework for "g," how can I and would it be a good idea to change (for example) Spanish III from a LOTE into a college-preparatory elective on the UC application as a means of satisfying the "g" requirement?

Thank you in advance! (And yes, I did post this on Ms. Sun's Facebook page haha ...)

Any a-g course beyond the minimum counts for a g-elective.

“g l College-Preparatory Electives — 1 year required
One year (two semesters), in addition to those required in “a-f” above, chosen from the following areas: engineering, technology, visual and performing arts (non-introductory level courses), history, social science, English, advanced mathematics, laboratory science and language other than English (a third year in the language used for the “e” requirement or two years of another language).”

Okay, thanks.

On my application, I do not have any “College-Preparatory Elective” under the “A-G Subject Area”; how did it read 0 remaining units while filling out the application? (I guess this question doesn’t really matter - it’s just for curiosity’s sake.) As I do not have any “College-Preparatory Elective” explicitly listed under the “A-G Subject Area” on my UC application, does it matter, and if so, how can I change my “Language Other Than English” (Spanish III) into a “College-Preparatory Elective”? Am I too late? Will the adcoms realize I did an extra year of Spanish, fulfilling the “g” requirement?

Does anyone know? I want to fix this mishap as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance.

Am I a complete nerd for looking at title of this thread and thinking, “No, U pairs with A and C pairs with G.”?
