I knew it.

The University of California will accept applications for fall 2006 admission until 11:59 p.m. PST December 2, 2005.

I knew it.

wow they did that the year before too

I think they want the money. 60 bucks for maybe 15-25 mins looking at an application. Maybe even less considering some people apply not being eligible... And schools like UCSB automaticly accept people if they have a 3.0 or 2.8 or something like that...

highschoolda, if that is true then UCSB really is one of my safeties hahaha

I don't want to make any judgments about the money without seeing more information.

highschoolda,

UCSB had an average high school GPA of 3.88.

You're so far off it's ridiculous.

I think he was referring to their guaranteed transfer agreement.

Even so, UCSB's transfer GPA is higher than that.

Aren't most TAPs at least a 3.2-3.3 GPA, anyway?

Well UCSD's TAG program for instance was 2.8 and just recently changed to 3.0. It includes their own general education program (NOT IGETC).

UCSB recommends a 2.7 for biology majors. They don't list one for letters and sciences--I get the feeling that they don't want to publicize how low it is?

Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle.

Fair enough.

From my school its 2.8 and finishing English and Math reqs by fall of year before transfer for UCSB. Really not that difficult.

I'm surprised most people aren't aware of the requirements this late into the application period.

Just go to assist.org, click your community college, then UCSB, then select TAA - College of Engineering or TAA - College of L&S.

For most L&S majors, you need 60 units, a 2.8 GPA (which will be raised to a 3.0 for Fall 07), and completion of 6 general education classes as specified on the UCSB transfer website. Most majors do not require that you take any pre-reqs. Not all majors are eligible, some majors like biological sciences require pre-req classes, and engineering majors are subject to different GPA requirements.

And just for the record, UCSB's average GPA of admitted freshman in Fall 05 is 3.99 (up from 3.98 in Fall 04) and the average GPA of enrolled students in 3.82 (up from 3.76 in Fall 04).

highschoolda was referring to transfer GPA's, not highschool ones.

Yes, I was replying to another comment. The average transfer GPA at UCSB is 3.21.

Where did you find the average transfer GPA?

If I recall if you hunt around most of the UC sites you can find the average transfer GPA's.

I remember looking at them in the past, but I am having trouble finding them now. For instance, it is nowhere to be found on UCSB's website--unless that was just me. That's why I'm asking.

Archive.org has a saved copy of this page with the Fall 2003 class info, and I saved the Fall 2004 class info before that page was updated. UCSB also has a class profiles page:

anyone else still have to submit his or her application?
