What you posted is true for every large university.
As someone responded on Parents Forum to your post: List of Harvard University people - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: List of Harvard University people - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My Harvard CLASS included students who became: a head of state; a U.S. ambassador; won the Nobel prize; headed a large foundation; became a renowned sportscaster; became a well known comedian on SNL who's now running for U.S. senator; became a state Supreme Court justice; became a state lieutenant governor; became solicitor general of the U.S.; and was named by Time mag as one of the country's top intellectuals.

Those all are different people and come from one ordinary class at Harvard, a school far, far smaller than UF.

I never said UF had a stronger alumni base than Harvard.

However we do stack up well against some of the other Ivy's

I agree with you that UF has a very strong alum base, something that is true of all large public universities. Your list also should help people realize that one doesn't need to go Ivy to attend a college that offers fabulous networking. Depending on where one lives, when it comes to networking, it may be more advantageous to have attended one's flagship public than to have attended an Ivy.

Even still with the exception of the University of Michigan, UF is better than all the other Large Public Universities in total quantity. We have UGA, UTexas, Ohio State, UMass, UCLA, Texas A & M, UWisconsin, UIllinois all beat.

Obviously the Public Military Academies might have us (ie: West Point & Annapolis) But we are better than the Airforce Academy & Coast Guard Academy in terms of Prestigious Alumni.
