I have not seen any talk about UF... right now it's looking like this is where I will end up. Just wondering if any of you guys had any stories about experiences, etc. w/ UF.

UF has the hottest chicks in any university I've seen, surpassing even UMiami and UCLA/USC.

Great sports program, too.

The academics suck compared to top schools, obviously, but it's not the worst public uni, and you can get straight As pretty easily if you choose the right courses, which means you can still get into good grad schools/jobs if you play your cards right.

In short, there are MUCH worse ways to spend 4 years.

Have you check out the U of Florida thread under Colleges here?

UF, although I'm a big fan of their football team, does NOT have the hottest chicks in Florida. Sorry, but that's FSU. But females aside, UF is the best school academically and sports-wise in Florida. It's also a pretty nice (albeit crowded) campus.

Well, I live in G'ville, and I know many many people who go there or will be attending there next year. Based off of people I know, I would say that there is a tremendous range of people who go there. Most of my friends are in the Honors college, living in Hume, and they love it. They are all very smart, and I know many extremely smart people who turned down far more "prestigious" schools to attend to monetary reasons.
However, I also know many people who are not all that intelligent, and will probably spend the next four years partying constantly.
Thus, I think that at any school of UF's size, it's necessary to find the niche that's right for you. The upside is that there is a group for everyone, because there are so many diverse people.
