I agree. I feel like we ripped him apart with our responses (mostly bearcats fault lol).

It’s ok Coolbreeze. At University of Michigan - Ann Arbor we are very chill people.

I agree. I feel like we ripped him apart with our responses (mostly bearcats fault lol).

It’s ok Coolbreeze. At University of Michigan - Ann Arbor we are very chill people.

We are also very tolerant to people of the average Michigan State University - East Lansing grad’s intelligence level. We value diversity… according to Mary Sue Coleman…

^Funny … but really bearcats, stop it.

lol… k…

It’s Great…To BE… a UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN - ANN ARBOR Wolverine… lol… imagine saying that at the same rhythm

^well rap it out then…

omg…i found an even funnier sentence that beats everything I listed so far

"Also at my school all if not most students make it clear on which university they are talking about… "

W.T.F…all if not most…lol… Intro to Logic…

“since University of Michigan- Flint, and University of Michigan- Dearborn is just as popular,”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Reason why I don’t have my location is a long story…

I’m just reading how absurd the post are, and so far really gives me a completely different impression of University of Michigan- Ann Arbor student body, I couldn’t imagen another group of college confidential users making such post/ remarks if I were to always state… University of Wisconsin- Madison, University of Minnesota- Twin Cities etc… I mean really. Also speakign of spelling errors, or logic… something bearcats was talking about, oddly it seems like a lot of University of Michigan- Ann Arbor students on this forum find enjoyment after always contraying and attacking very minor things, all senseless to be laughable.
As for bearcats speaking about a average Michigan State University student, this is not what I would have been expecting from a average or high standard University of Michigan- Ann Arbor student at all… Glad none of you ( and if you are, sadden to hear such) are representative for University of Michigan- Ann Arbor, truly would be a disappointment.

Enough said, and this should apply to any other negative comments that may appear after my comment.

LOL Bearcats, you’re hilarious.

Coolbrezze, could you at least read over your comments before you post them? The reason everyone’s bashing you is because you post comments with sentences like this:

“Also speakign of spelling errors, or logic… something bearcats was talking about, oddly it seems like a lot of University of Michigan- Ann Arbor students on this forum find enjoyment after always contraying and attacking very minor things, all senseless to be laughable.”

Nearly incomprehensible.

“Glad none of you ( and if you are, sadden to hear such) are representative for University of Michigan- Ann Arbor, truly would be a disappointment.”
Well I’m glad YOU’RE not representative of Michigan. That would truly be a disappointment. Note the proper grammar.

I’m also sick of the Ann Arbor thing. I’m sick of conversations that go like this:
“What college are you going to”
“Michigan”
“Ann Arbor or Michigan State?”
At this point, I grunt out “Ann Arbor” and resist the urge to slap the person I’m talking to. I’d rather have someone kick me in the nuts than have someone imply I go to MSU.

Coolbreeze, unless I am mistaken, people are just making fun of you in a harmless, it’s-all-in-good-fun way. Please don’t take the jokes to heart and don’t be discouraged to apply to UMich next year.

^Yes I agreed. Most people at Michigan are pretty nice people. I’m sure we (I definitely did) did so because we wanted you to change … but you’re fine the way you are. I know that you’re a very hard working guy who’s hoping for the best, and I certainly hope that’s what you get, because it’s what you deserve. I really do respect people like you.

I urge you to apply to UMich this year, and I wish you the best of luck!

“I’d rather have someone kick me in the nuts than have someone imply I go to MSU.”

That’s harsh and unnecessary man. I’ve noticed that MSU has been portrayed on this forum as some bad school. I have many friends that go to Michigan State University, and it’s not a bad school at all. Certainly the second best school in Michigan for undergrad, and it is far far better than the distant third, don’t even think of comparing Wayne State or Eastern to MSU. Especially their grad programs, some of which are very good, just to pull up a few USNWR rankings:

Nucleur Physics ranks 2nd right behind MIT (on a top 10 list it beats out Cal Tech, University of Illinois- Urbana, Yale, Columbia… etc.),

Ranks 1’st in both Secondary and Primary education, this shows in the excellent quality of our teachers.

Their College of Osteopathic Medicine ranks 7’th in Primary Care.

Ranks 1’st (tied U of Wisc.- Madison) in Rehabilitation Counseling.

Ranks 9’th in Veterinary School.

Physics (tied with Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Rice, UC-Irvine, UC-Davis, and Duke) at 29th

Supply Chain Management ranks 2nd, again right behind MIT (beats out Carnegie, Stanford, Wharton, Kellogg.)

Sorry I listed so much stuff, I just had been annoyed by so many people bashing MSU, making it out as something it really is not, especially when I know so many intelligent people that have gone there, and then I read "I’d rather have someone kick me in the nuts than have someone imply I go to MSU. " I personally have no connection with the university itself, as I plan to either go to U of M or one of its private peers, but I just felt I had to respond to that comment.

[TuckerMax.com | The value of a Michigan State education](http://www.tuckermax.com/archives/entries/date/the_value_of_a_michigan_state_education.phtml#723)

^Really convincing evidence. A story (quite possibly a made up one) about a short conversation with 1 person who went to MSU.

People portray MSU as a bad school b/c Wolverines are like that … arrogant and condescending … they think of U of M as the best in the state (at the very least) … but U of M is a good school, so is MSU.

MSU definitely has some strengths. It is much cheaper than U of M and it can attract people to go there because they’re incredibly generous with merit scholarships. And as the person above mentioned, some of its programs are ranked higher than U of M, and U of M doesn’t even offer nuclear physics. Even though it used to be a farming school, MSU is NOT a bad school.

And, as for the Trucker Max thing … darn it why did I ditch my opportunity to study econ and math at Chicago!?

No … you can succeed no matter where you go (ok as long as the school is good enough) … it’s what you make of your 4 years just like in HS. MSU may not be as highly ranked as U of M, but like U of M, they have also had Churchill, Gates, and Marshall Scholars … which are really prestigious awards and some of them allow you to study in the UK for grad school (we’re talking about Oxford and Cambridge) without paying a single penny. And those MSU students who have won those awards competed in the same arena as students from other top privates/publics and the Ivies.

(you can succeed no matter where you go (ok as long as the school is good enough))

I used to be hold that naive view… You’ll change your view after going through just ONE recruiting year. Maybe even the first career fair of the year. You will clearly see what corporates executives think are top/good universities and what they think are cow colleges.

Based on your statement, may I ask how was your first recruiting year at Michigan?

And of course I’m naive. I’m younger than you are.

a bit late, but bearcats’ posts made me lol in rl… so mean >:]

Investment Banks - Where is Goldman? Where is Morgan Stanley? Where is JP Morgan? Where is Lazard? Where is UBS? where is Credit Suisse? Where is BOAMER?

Actually there are no investment banks at all

Strat/Management Consulting firms - Where is Mckinsey? Where is Bain? Where is BCG? Where is Oliver Wyman? Where is Monitor?

The only big name is see is Deloitte and Deloitte is mostly tech consulting these days.

Funds/Prop Trading: Where is DE Shaw? Where is Citadel? Where is Jane Street Capital? Where is SIG? Where is Chicago Trading?

The only quite known name is Wolverine Trading and the only reason is because their head recruiter is a law grad from Michigan State

Most of the companies I listed showed up for the Michigan Engineering Career Fair alone, and I am not even counting the overall career fair which is a lot bigger or the Ross career fair with a high concentration of prestigious company.

http://career.engin.umich.edu/annualReport/Annual_Report0708.pdf
look through pages 13-16 of the pdf. This is just for engineering. There are probably 5 times the number of companies and you can also see all the typical big name that dont recruit at Moo U… and dont forget this is just Michigan Engineering recruiting vs Moo U overall recruiting… even more companies recruit michigan if you go outside of COE but i dont want to bother looking that up
