I don’t think there is anything wrong with community bathrooms. And I didn’t have to clean my bathroom, which was a plus.

Not having my own sink would have been another story.

Do the rooms have locks on their doors? Particularly jester

yea, i think every room has a lock and key

Yes, and all of the bathrooms have a keycode for entry as well–you can’t walk into someone else’s bathroom unless they let you in or you piggyback.

how does laundry work in the dorms? do the students have to pay like at a washateria? do all the dorms have laundry facilities?

You pay for laundry with your UT ID. I think it is a dollar to wash and a dollar to dry. It is debited off of your Bevo Bucks. I think there are laundry rooms on every floor of every dorm.

When we visited Union College in New York, one of their selling points is that you can do your laundry for free. Yeah, if DS wanted to be on a campus that looks like a high school! Ick. Liked the idea, though.

So how many washing/drying machines are there?

would you just leave it there to wash and come back when it’s done? I don’t want anything stolen if I forget to come back on time…

It depends on the dorms. At Carothers there are 2 washers and 2 dryers per floor.

It costs $1 to wash and $1 to dry per load. You can either use your UT ID card and pay with Bevo Bucks or you can use quarters.

This is one area where CWRU has an edge over UT. The washers and dryers are on the campus intranet. You can check to see where there is an open washer or dryer; you can see if your washer or dryer is done with its cycle yet; you can get a message (email or text) when your clothes are ready. :)

^that’s awesome…but what is CWRU…

And do the machines have locks or anything? Should I even be worried about anything being stolen?

Case Western Reserve University. It’s not a bad school at all, but it’s in CLEVELAND. They have a really good med school.

So for housing, I’m currently looking into Moore-hill. I know it’s social as well as quiet, but can anyone tell me some inside info? (does it really have no elevators?)

Moore-Hill doesn’t have elevators. It’s only like 4 stories though. At Jester, you have to take the stairs if you live on the first four floors, anyways.

thanks. I’m looking to put Moore-hill as my first choice but I just want to know more about the dorm since I wasn’t able to go inside it for a “tour” during orientation. if anyone has any more info or experience about it, please share :)

I’m looking at Moore-Hill too. Did you just get back from orientation?

yup. I was planning seeing if I could get a peek inside some of the rooms but moore-hill was coded so I couldn’t get in. how 'bout you?

how was orientation? i’m going up in like 3 days haha

it’s really fun and there’s tons of stuff to do. and it’s organized too so don’t worry about being too overwhelmed or unprepared. just try to have a class schedule planned out so you won’t be too stressed for registration.

Can anyone tell me which dorms are near the College of Natural Science classes?
