The "Upward Trend"

<p>…Let’s say I have this “friend” with a 3.7 GPA,</p>

<p>If he’s been having a steady upward trend since Freshman year (last 3 semester report cards were straight A’s), does this greatly increase his chances?</p>

<p>Also, does UPenn take out middle school classes that count for High school Credit?</p>

<p>If so, the GPA is more like 3.85</p>

<p>I don't think it increases chances that much, it just compensates for bad grades earlier on...somewhat...and even then, with highly selective admissions, any bad grades hurt</p>
