I read somewhere that being a URM willgive you a .4 GPA boost and a 400 point SAT boost, but another site said you get "only" 100 points in the college admissions game. Who's telling the truth? Just how much of a boost will I get, and if my numbers are already on par with normally competitive students at all the "brand name" schools, just how high (or average or low) are my chances of admission?

That seems a bit over-exaggerated. I believe URM does give you an advantage, but not to that degree.

If URM was that big of an advantage, then no URM students would get rejected so long as they were "decent."

Hmm... okay. Good to know. I'm glad, though, because 400 points is wayyyy over the top and it would be embarassing to get that big of a boost. Guess you can't trust everything you read online.
