The value of AP French on College App.

Me and my friend are in AP/Honors French. The class is combined because there arn't enough AP kids to make one class. The way to differentiate from the class is that the AP kids have to journal entries and extra orals. The honors kid get +5 points on their tests as this acts as a handicap to the AP kids. I am taking three other AP classes including AP English Literature. AP French has a lot of work to do compared to the other AP classes. The work is hard and basically both of us are working towards a B and nothing higher. Me and my friend are interested in technology and science, so does AP French really look that good on a transcript?

I am applying to MIT, RPI, WPI, Tufts, and Harvard

My friends applying to RPI, WPI, Cal Poly Slo. and NC State (Raleigh)

I know this is a confusing question and forgive me for the lengthy post, bad grammar (i am an international), etc.

Any responses will be appreciated

Sorry, me and my friend are just frustrated with our class.

bump...anyone?

I would stay in the course, unless you really can't stand it. It will look better to stay than to drop. You will probably be able to pass out of your college foreign language requirement, so that will be good. Also, you are both tech types, so it makes you look more versatile to have made it to advanced French. Just hang in there!

Stay in it. Worst-case scenario you get accelerated credit at college for language (esp. if you go to Tufts where the language requirements are intense).

in order to get accelerated credit at college, do I have to get a 4 or a 5 on the AP Exam or do they also look at the grades along with the AP exam score?
