I have a 29 ACT (33 english, 25 math, 31 reading, 28 science, 32 combined english/writing)

I submitted my SAT but it is significantly lower (620 CR, 600 M, 680 W)

I have a 91.66 weighted GPA (school doesn't do 4.0 scale)

I have a lot of extracurriculars and leadership positions (examples include student government, National Honor Society, and volunteer work)

I have taken a rigorous course load and have a upward trend from freshmen-senior year.

I wrote an essay in Essay C about a special circumstance (illness) that kept me out of school this year for 3 weeks. I went on to make the best grades I've made in high school.

My 1st choice major is the college of natural sciences and my 2nd choice was the college of communications.

What are my chances as an OOS?? Will my special circumstance make me stand out?

thanks! my school does not rank unfortunately.

also i misspelled a word on my application (i thought it was right…) and my resume i submitted (the optional one) had one or two grammar mistakes. will that make or break my admission or not??

well it depends if they catch the mistakes or not… as long as the rest of your application doesn’t come off as rushed/careless I think you should be fine.

I think you have a pretty decent chance! you may not be a shoe-in but I think you’ll make it! I don’t know too much about your specific major but I think chances are in your favorr!

Yes I still think you will be admitted because one little mistake won’t make a huge difference. They know that nobody is perfect, so you’ll be fine. Besides, when they measure your personal achievement index, they prbly can’t give u 1 less pt if you have amazing ECs!

I know I’m just nervous because they are obvious mistakes and there’s about 3 of them (2-3 on the optional essay) and 1 on my application. But I really hope I can still get in!!!

I forgot to put an “s” on a word to make a plural and left out a comma somewhere so the sentence is kind of confusing. With the app, I misspelled privileged…

My S is also applying as an OOS, although he was born in Austin TX… His stats is similar to yours…During the visit we were told that the admissions office uses the best scores for you, ACT or SAT. Ranking is very important. Like your school, my S’s school does not rank. The admission counselor had sent an e-mail asking him about the ranking when he first applied.

Keep finger crossed. Feb 15th is the Judgment Day.
