I heard St. George’s never went to it’s wait list and and was basically spot on with admissions.

@98beebee, Exeter just sent one out today via e-mail

My friend got off the waitlist of hotchkiss and milton yesterday…10th grade gril.

That’s great, congratulations to your friend!

Saswisher, just curious… Do you know which school your friend picked?
Asking this because my daughter is waitlisted for Milton’s 10th grade.

Hey I think she hasnt made the decision yet, but she is leaning towards Milton…She is an international student though.

I was accepted off of Milton’s waitlist yesterday also, and I’m also a 10th grade girl and international student.

Jumping up and down for you aarlyn! So very happy for you. I hope all of you find a place!

lol then I’m pretty sure Milton is trying to take a 10th grade girl off the waitlist, since my friend and arralyn both declined the offer… (sorry ka9799 she decided to go to Hotchkiss instead!)

Any updates for the Choate wait list?

Nothing from Choate, still remotely hopeful but moving on… unless they call of course :)

Ok, Exeter and Hotchkiss have closed their waitlists.

Public school it is, then.

I actually got an email from Hotchkiss saying that I’m off the waitlissttt!!! :D

@98beebee

since when are Exeter and Hotchkiss waiting lists closed?

They said they may have movement in the summer. Though it is unlikely, that still does happen, especially for a fairly good number for Exeter. I don’t mean to say count on it but they never said they were closing their waiting lists.

@preplife:

You are right. Exeter is not closing, they are just keeping it open in case of attrition. Probably the same with Hotchkiss.

What’s attrition?

I’m a late applicant applying for choate and i submitted my application mid may, does anyone have an idea when i would be notified if i got accepted or not? thanks!(:

The regular application deadline for Choate, and most other top BS, was in mid-January. If you applied in May as a late-applicant, then your chances of being admitted for Fall 2012 are pretty much zero, unless you are an Olympic-class athlete, your last name is Kennedy, or your parents are willing to fund the building of a new library.

Yes. It is hard to believe, but when my kids were there they had classmates who were all of the above. However, I think that all of the schools do quietly make room for a few students who apply over the summer.
