Called. I had been calling every day this week and once a week since march 10th

did anyone hear anything from choate, deerfield, milton, or concord because I am on the wait list for all of them

Choate sent an email saying that they were in no position to make any offers

@NHMomof3 that gives everyone some hope. @Momof5ct that is great news. The fact that one of you even got FA should give @stargirl3 some hope. @BigBird18 all the contact you have received from PEA hopefully means good news will come your way. I am glad to see that there is movement on the wait list at this early date.

did you here about the other school @swimmergirl3

My D got off the Cate WL this week.

so no one heard from concord, milton or deerfield

The kids who posted their admissions results on CC represent ~1-2% of the total applicant pool, but even based on this non-representative snapshot, there are hints that not all WL lists are created equal.

At some schools, like Deerfield, WL is a soft-rejection. Look at the skewed % of WL & rejected kids at Deerfield, relative to other schools. The percentages are consistent with the reports from CC posters that the Deerfield WL is huge. We heard from an AO that they rarely draw from the list.

Thankfully, at most other schools, the WL is **real/b, and there appears to be movement now at schools!

Thanks but I really want to go to Milton and Concord. I wish I had more information about those schools

Keep in mind that the overwhelming majority do not stay on these waitlists. Usually, the only kids who are WLed everywhere are the ones who need a lot of FA. Those who have offers tend to move on. That 700 figure (which doesnāt surprise me at all) might shrink to 200 by April 1. If i had to guess, Iād say that some schools wl twice as many as they accept, if not more.

I was recently taken off Lawrencevilleās waitlist, I will be a day student though so note that because day students are extra money for them but boarders require beds which makes it harder. I guess the chances even out though since from my knowledge of the very competitive public school that I attend and other kids, the day yield is often much higher than the boarding yield.

The 700 number at St. Paulās still surprises me because they accepted around 160 this year.

Thanks @neatoburritoā I got wait listed everywhere and I am so nervous and stressed out. I need all full ride to go to these boarding school(single parent household that lives in Chicago), now I know that maybe my financial position contributed to my spot in the wait pool.

@Hsgirl25 We seem to be in similar boats. Good luck!

@stargirl3 what boat are you in?

All waitists, full aid, single parentā¦

Hopefully we get off the waitlist together, do you know anyone that got off the waitlist Milton and Concord?

I donāt know anyone who applied to Milton, and my friend who applied to Concord was rejected.

@Hsgirl25ā We declined a spot at Milton yesterday, but it was for 9th grade, boarding, girl, FP. Who knows what their yield is, so I doubt there is much if any correlation. Good luck to you!!!

@MoreACubMom Were you offered/did you need financial aid at Cate?
