Not gonna lie. I’m pretty depressed at this point. I doubt one more week is going to do anything for me, but I’m still keeping my fingers crossed!!

is it even possible to get off the waitlist at this point? If they send out their final notices on June 30th, id assume they are rejections

So we’ve been rejected? Super. When do they mail the letters??

I know the chances of getting off the waitlist are slim, but where’s everyone going if they don’t? I bet they’re all pretty good schools. I’m going to Boston College and I’m pretty excited about it. From what I hear, you will most likely love your school and will never be able to imagine having gone anywhere else.

Slim??? I thought they were non existent as of now. Anyway, I’ll be doing a transfer app, if I still want to by the time I get to love (or otherwise) my school, and I’ll be in school in my home country. I’m international.

So I got the official NO from UPenn…albeit two months late. Personally I had forgotten all about UPenn and am glad to say I will be attending the University of Notre Dame in the fall. Oh, and for those who care, I applied to Wharton.

Got a letter from UPenn today as well… apparently i’m on the summer waitlist (Wharton) for the (very unlikely) event a spot were to open up in July. Not getting my hopes up though…

I got a no too, but I’m kinda happy that I don’t have to make another decision. Truth be told, after going to orientation for BC, I don’t think I would have chosen UPenn anyway. I’m completely in love with the school that I’ll be attending in the fall.

Geez, Chilon, they’re really stringing people along with a “summer waitlist” (I didn’t even know that such a thing existed). If it’s still what you want, then I hope you get in!

Dear Xxxxxx,

On behalf of the Admissions Office, thank you for your continued interest in the University of Pennsylvania. Although our first-year class is fully subscribed, it is possible that a few spots will become available during the summer. We are inviting a small number of students, including you, to remain active on the wait list. I realize that this prolongs the uncertainty of your plans for the fall. However, we want to give you every opportunity to be considered for a seat in the class of 2012.

If you remain interested in Penn, please send an email by July 8th to xxxxxx at xxxxxx@admissions.upenn.edu that indicates your desire to continue as an active candidate. We expect to know whether we will extend additional offers by the end of July.

Again, we appreciate your interest in Penn and will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

This is what i got… I’m not sure what the deal is.. I honestly don’t want to get rejected after a month. Any previous Upenn student received this summer-waitlist thing? I’m in the engineering school.. Oh man, life just goes on and on.

Same thing for me; summer waiting list for Wharton.

I might get rescinded, so maybe there will be a SAS spot for somebody.

Could any one check if their online letters have changed accordingly as well? Because I have not received any letter yet, and I do not know how long is the letter going to take since I am an international. Also, has any international been place on the extended waitlist?

Hey smustehsan, I am a Korean international, and I have received the letter..

Btw tickytock14, what did you do to be possibly rescinded? If they still havent sent you anything, I doubt that they will now. And I’m not sure if you mean CAS or SEAS haha

I would really like to know if anyone have been in the same situation in previous years.. Does this virtually guarantee that we will be accepted, or do they send this kind of emails to 50 people and most get rejected? I’m trying not to have my hopes up but I cant stop imagining myself getting accepted. T_T I really hope that this “small group of people” mean like, 5 people so everyone can get in..

kyun90-- you should call them and ask, b/c i’m wondering the same thing too. i’d call myself but i’ve nagged them waaay too many times already ;)

i really really really hope it means we get in.

maybe i’m just being really optimistic for us that got the letter, but i think a lot of people would respond no to staying on the waitlist, because i think so many people are already in love with their college. i mean i already have my class schedule, roommate, financial aid done for tulane, and if i wasn’t so in love with penn, i wouldn’t say yes to staying on the waitlist.

Chilon/ I would call them if I werent in Korea. Its a pain to wait untill their office hours, or wake up early to make it before they close. Anyone should call them and ask them what the deal is. Don’t worry, they can’t tell who you are by your voice.

AHH i cant wait

I am international,
I have not heard anything yet,
I was told on Monday decisions are coming out this week,
I Think this week office hours end in 6 hours … well where is my decision then :(

Hey gleash, which decision are you talking about?

The decision of getting waitlisted/rejected, or accepted/rejected?

If you are talking about the latter, I’m going to be pretty excited.

When in the world are they going to tell us if we are ACCEPTED or REJECTED.

This waiting game is getting pretty tough.

yeah, I am talking about the normal waiting list, as I should have been notified about the decision some time ago,

through they are working on Saturdays too… :-S
donno
