What is the likelihood of an in state applicant getting waitlisted? Or what about getting accepted off of the waitlist?
Any international students here who have accepted, or are going to accept, their waitlist offers?
I am most definitely going to!
@kai407 were you waitlisted?
@uwhusky1997 yup
How many people do you think are offered a spot on the waitlist?
lol i have no idea. Admissions were the most competitive this year than any before. This could be a good thing as well for us waitlisted applicants because the high caliber pool of accepted applicants must have applied and gotten accepted into more selective unis, which they would end up going to naturally (why not). This would mean that the enrollment rate might drop for UW, which would prompt the admissions committee to accept students off the waitlist.
@kai407 I have not gotten my letter yet but since I don’t expect a direct admission, I’m hoping for a waitlist. I think you’re right, I bet a lot of people on the waitlist will be offered admission
Did you even read the letter you received?
“In 2014, for example, 197 of the 1060 students on the waitlist were offered admission, compared to 704 of the 754 students in 2013.”
@liment I did not receive a waitlist letter. I posted this before getting one in hopes that I would not be rejected, but I got rejected after posting this.
@liment I’m an international student, so i didn’t receive the letter. Instead, I received an email saying ‘some years, we are able to offer most international students from the waitlist, other years we aren’t able to offer any at all’
