**The Waitlisted Thread**

Does anybody know the details? How many of us are there? Whats an average % for the acceptance rate of the waitlisted kids? How do you guys feel about getting waitlisted? Lets keep the thread updated as we find stuff out ;) .

Personally, I feel a bit proud of myself for making it this far, but also a bit disappointed that I didn't make it in. I am also a bit panicky though, because if I don't have better luck tomorrow through saturday (3 more), I'm off to state school.

i feel like everyone and their moms got waitlisted. no joke.. who thinks they are going to wait? im waiting for the end of this week to make my decision.

by the way, i feel really proud too because i thought i was going to get rejected, but i dont know if waiting through the wait period and then getting rejected probably wont be too fun either.

It looks like there are a looooot of waitlistees in the decisions thread... weird. I was a little surprised because I knew Pratt was looking to expand this year, so I figured the admit rate would be a bit more generous. Also, I believe the number of engineering applications decreased slightly this year.

The waitlist letter was actually really nice, though. I'm just happy I didn't get flat-out rejected, because then I wouldn't even stand a chance at Penn tomorrow.

the only reason I got waitlisted: $$$, I wish Duke was need-blind for internationals, sob

I got waitlisted too, from both Duke and Johns Hopkins. I'm going for a full 5 out of 5 today (Dartmouth, Yale, Princeton)

This is my second waitlist, along with WUSTL.

This is my first waitlist, and I'm kinda sad. It was my number 1 school.

Well, hopefully good news from UPenn today.

Hey guys. Hope you have some better luck coming. Last year I was waitlisted at 3 schools (including Duke). I ended up being admitted to Duke after a month. If you have any questions let me know. It was a stressful wait after April 1st didn't go very well, but it all worked out.

I got waitlisted but I won't be waiting. It's between UNC and Vandy for me, now.

Two other kids in my school got waitlisted, the rest rejected.

any urm's waitlisted?

it would be nice to know how many people have been waitlisted. i'm really confused right now because i'm trying to stay optimistic but i have no idea what the odds are. i have a cousin who went to notre dame after being waitlisted, so maybe it will run in the family.

i am half urm and was waitlisted.

Back in the day, rumors floated around that the waitlist was nearly 2000 students long, or substantially bigger than the entire freshman class. They were rumors, and even if they were true then they might not still be true.

But that's what the word on the street was in 2002.

The waitlist at WUSTL is huge. I bet they waitlist like 5000.

Im pretty sure Duke accepted over 100 kids off the waitlist last year because of the LAX scandal, so don't give up hope just yet.

Another waitlist here.

Waitlisted at Duke's Trinity. Yeah, all the Pratt kids at my school got into Duke. No one got into Trinity Arts and Sciences yet. Does anyone know how many people get waitlisted from Duke this year? I think they said this year was a application numbers record, something like 20,000 apps. Which means their admissions rate percentage will go way down. Pity, Duke was my 2nd choice. I feel so horrible..possibly even more horrible after the Ivy bloodbath tonight.

My third waitlist out of five schools. Ugh.

Anyone know how many get off the waitlist, or how hard it is compared to other schools? And does anyone know if final grades are considered in the waitlist.

well if i dont get into LA or Cal, i have to wait. drat. i really, REALLY wanted to go.
