The Webb School-Bell Buckle

I ran into a mother of one of my daughter's friend and she ask me what I knew about The Webb School. She is aware that I frequent a school forum and was looking for any information on the school.

I know nothing about boarding school! I did a bit of research and really didn't find anything about the school other than the school website. I did see that only about 30% of the students board, whereas It seems to be about 30% day students at most other boarding schools.

Can you share with me anything about the school-the good, the bad, the ugly. I did see there was what looked like daily chapel services, but the school says it is non denominational. This is a jewish family; will the student feel out of place? How is the faculty, the dorms, sports, etc.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know much about Webb but you might suggest that your friend look at St. Andrew's-Sewanee School which is very close to Webb. It's an Episcopal school but it's very welcoming of students of other faiths and has students who are Jewish, Buddhist, atheist, etc. St. Andrew's-Sewanee is about 50-50 day and boarding in its upper school.

What kind of school is your friend and her daughter interested in?

Hey! I am a recent Webb graduate and I loved it! The school is nondenominational because I am Jewish and I felt very comfortable there. Although the school is only 30% boarding, the boarding and day student life really mixes together. Both sides interact quite frequently to make the environment very unified.
