Any ideas what the dates for Cornell Days will be in April? What was it in the past? My parents really want to get their hotel reservations.

My parents wanted to also, my mom just called up and asked, and they told her, i forget what she said, but I think it was something like the 8th-18th, something like that, just call up, or have one of your parents call, that is the easiest way, i couldn't find it online btw.

Does anybody know if we're supposed to stay on-campus or with our parents at a hotel?

I think it is optional. You can stay with your parents at a hotel and do all of the activites together with them, just like a normal tour, only I suppose since they are attracting students the tour type things will be better. And you can also stay for one night in a Dorm with a student.

Any current students that can verify this and give better information.

i can tell you definitively next this coming friday. i'm having my first e-board meeting about cornell days.

Thanks. Now, I can go for any of the 10 days to explore the campus. But will the individual colleges have things going on on specific days?

I think you can also stay with a student on campus. My sister is a senior now, so I'll probably go to visit without my parents, but I don't think I will stay with her, I want to see what the dorms are like.

haha watch me spend like, the whole 10 days there.

Me too, at least one night in each dorm building! haha

I'm definitely going for court, mews, or JAM. Probaby not Jam though, because I want to meet ppl who aren't just musicians.

yeh i want to go to court or mews

yeah that's so annoying why hasn't cornell told us when the cornell day in april are? the "big fat envelope" is a huge lie. cornell gave us the thinnest envelope ever!! it was like, "congrats, you're in, see ya later." you know?!! i wish they sent us more mail. haha you guys all know what i mean. but yeah april isn;'t that far away and i want to plan my trip. can anyone confirm those dates from above? it's too late to call the admissions office now. i live in california, so it's always closed by the time i get home.

p.s. go big red

hey, i'm having my eboard meeting tomorrow to plan for cornell days, i will know the exact dates and everything hopefully by then, so i'll post here sometime tomorrow or saturday.

thank god i checked online first. if i saw a thin envelope i probably would have had a heart attack before i even opened it. so what are the dorm options again?

balch
donlon
court
mews
JAM
...
and others?

Cornell mom here--It's been a year since d's acceptance-but this is how I remember it. D was accepted in mid Feb. in ILR (rolling admission for ILR--Hotel and CALS (?). Acceptance Notification was on website first and she received acceptance letter in mail a few days later. (small envelope). I don't think she got the BIG Envelope-"Case for Cornell" until April. I assume they send the big envelope out to all acceptees at the same time in April. All info re: Cornell Days was on website. Most days were interchangeable as they pretty much had the same activities for the 10 day period. Last year it was around 4/9-4/19 give or take a day or 2. My d went up with a classmate who had a friend at Cornell-so they made unofficial arrangements to stay in the dorm. That's probably the best way to do it. About Dorms-- You will get a housing questionnaire. You'll answer questions if you are an early bird or a night owl--if you are messy or neat and a bunch of other things. You will not be asked about dorm preference (at least not last year). I'll assume its because most people want to live in the new dorms. So it may not be worth your time to investigate the different dorms as they don't ask your preference. They will ask if you want co-ed or single sex--or if interested in a single-double-or triple. My d is in Jameson (hi-rise) which is suite style. She likes it-the rooms are fine. She's probably the closest dorm to Purcell (dining) so she's happy especially on days like today when it's probably really cold in Ithaca. It's like 5 degrees in NYC today so how much colder can it be at Cornell?? Good luck to all.

starts april 7th, ends approx. 18th.

Thanks for the info; I have a few more questions about Cornell Days. Which days would you recommend us visiting? What sort of activites are planned for these dates?
