Ok guys, this is THE Wharton thread. I thought we took too much abuse in our own thread. Here you can write anything from how proud you are to be a whartonite to what your interests are in class to questions that you might have regarding the university. Please try to avoid writing ANY STATS!

I’ll start. Briefly introduce yourself as what kind of person you are (this is not a stat list- interests, music, how you have fun, etc.) so we can get to know oneanother and write what you feel about having been admitted to Wharton.

good idea, our other thread is just getting wasted on.

anyways... my name is ai xue li, and i am from seattle (im not actually going to give my real name cause you guys might be 40 year old perverts... and i am small... so my chinese name will have to suffice). im sorta weird. i come up with a lot of hare-brained schemes (awww gawd, i used hare-brained, im an old lady). previous schemes have included going (somewhat independantly) to taiwan and china. that was painful. right now, im getting my real estate license. just spent the last few hours at a community college... sweet....

just a curious observation from the other wharton threads....where did all the male applicants go? Except the few that posted, did the rest get in but don't bother to post or (like me) got defered/denied? It just seems to me that (at least on this forum, on that thread) girls are outnumbering guys for wharton 2010. just curious...

Hey ai xue li, I'm from Renton, WA! not too far away from you. I am also chinese. Anyways I'm really into hip hop music and I produce my own beats in my free time. I hope to meet a lot of other hip hop heads at Penn. I don't have any licenses, but i did intern at microsoft during the summer. The hi-tech field is what I would like to get into for business.

yep, me! I'm from Singapore. I don't think many 2010 whartonites know of this thread, the class of 2010 link is kinda discreet. Anyway, this thread is a good idea though, would like to get to know the rest of my class.
Anyway, have you guys read this book called "The Running of the Bulls - Inside the cutthroat race from Wharton to Wall Street"? It's by Nicole Ridgway, and it looks at how wharton undergraduates go from young freshmen to accomplished seniors with dozens of job offers. It focuses alot on the internships and career services/ job opportunities that whartonites receive and compete intensely for. It's kinda intimidating reading the book as some of its information is exaggerated, so i guess you gotta read it with a pinch of salt yea?

That's awesome... as a gift my sis bought me 'untangling the ivy league' from amazon cuz apparently it has a lot of insider info on penn that you learn over the first couple months when you get there (hey, why not get a head start right?)

I read the "The Running of the Bulls" by Ridgway. Damn, that book is so good. It's everything melt says it is and it really freaks the hell out of any prospective students. I bought another copy to give it is a Chirstmas Present.

haha guess what, i got it as a christmas present! IBanking seems like the biggest thing on the minds of the wharton undergraduates. Working hours of 120-140 hours a week is really ridiculous but the pay is oh-so-good. Nevertheless, i have this strange feeling that most of us (including myself) will be caught up in the wall street craze.

from what i've heard, the penn admin will try their best to put you with a person who's from a different country/ race/ school as you...
which is awesome imo!

I just finished reading, "Running of the Bulls." Great read! Congrats to all of you BTW. The author cites several reference websites worth checking out:

Heh 2011 is going to be interesting. I am mostly biz-econ research (with some science)focused so we shall see whether the notion that business is a boost to get into Wharton is true or not.
