So I’ll be getting all my rejections at the same time? Awesome! Sarcasm

^ At least the blow will be less if they come all at once, instead of 8 blows spanning 2 weeks.:):)

Well at least I only applied to two of them, so it’s not as bad haha. Thanks!

Do you have to log into your account to get decisions or do they come in an email?

Penn, Brown, Princeton, Harvard, Yale.
Highest chances to lowest chances, and within lowest chances (HYP) least desirable to most desirable.

This is all theoretical, of course. In reality I’ll check in the order they become available.

^Exact same schools, in the exact same order

1st: Cornell
Last: Cornell

I only applied to Cornell =P

I can’t decide what order!
I suppose, Cornell (because I really like the school, and have a fairly decent shot), Harvard (not expecting much lol), Stanford (even though its not an Ivy, but yeah) and finally, Brown (the school I most desperately want to go to). If I get rejected from Brown, and see that first, I won’t have the will to check the others, haha.
But are they all April 1st? Or are some of the ivies on March 31st?

Again, all Ivies come out on the same day. Columbia sends express mail the day before the announcemnt date to all accepted students, and slow mail to all rejects. Some students have tried to game the system by calling up FedEx, DHL or UPS to see if they were getting a package from Columbia’s zip code. Every year someone has stood in front of Columbia’s admission office to see which truck shows up to pick up the packages.

Why does it have to be " Ivy Countdown Thread "?

lol @ people standing in front of the adcom office at Columbia. I wonder if they would ever have the truck “show up” and then send them through someone else to throw people off :P

I’m waiting for letters. I requested a letter from Harvard. I’d rather it that way. More traditional, more personal.

Princeton (#1 choice), Harvard (#2 choice), Dartmouth

hosed EA from Yale.

Only applied Penn, interview this Thursday. Crapshoot, uber reach, but meh, why not. NOT looking forward to the decision & will not be counting down.

Cornell and Princeton. Engineering.

This is a REALLY good question, I haven’t thought about it.

1) Brown - #1
2) Dartmouth
3) Cornell - Best shot of getting in

=]

That’s harsh!! I would definitely not like a reminder rejection letter that comes a week after I find out online that I got rejected.

Seriously?! The wait would absolutely kill me!!! Then again I’m not expecting any good news, but still… can you still tell if your accepted or denied by the size of your letter?

51 days until D-day (decision day)!

My D ALSO didn’t want to find out via e-mail. She asked for letters from anyone who allowed that. Much more fun, old fashioned, exciting, not knowing exactly, etc. More anticipation. Guessing from the size of the envelope, etc. She already told me she wants to get the mail starting the week before, so I won’t know before she does (that’s fair enough!).

Anyone ever see the movie Billie Elliott? He auditions for a ballet school and his letter is sitting on the kitchen table when he gets home from school. The family sitting around the table waiting for him to notice it. He calmly takes it, and goes into his room to read it alone. They finally can’t take it anymore when he doesn’t come back out and barge into his room. Cute movie. Cute scene.

Luck to y’all.

Thanks for wishing us luck <3

I considered asking for only the letter too, but I figured I wouldn’t be able to wait, so I didn’t. XD More power to those who can!

ahhhhhhhhh <2 months left

I am not sure. Maybe like this:

1.) Dartmouth (deferred ED)
2.) Brown
3.) Penn
4.) Cornell

Why? I have no idea.
