TOPIC: Do you think that ease does not challenge us and that we need adversity to help us discover who we are?

Ease does not challenge us and we need adversity to discover who we are. Imagine yourself sitting in front of television and sleep and relax for 24 hours. Development would never occur in any way. The only way to discover who we are and why we exist as humans is simply by challenging ourself through inexplicably adverse life.
When I was in Elementary, I didn't know how to communicate effectively like the other Americans. When Bob came to me, and asked what my name was, I said "24" and tons of friends behind him, laughed at me and lied flat in the ground hitting their stomachs until they realized that it started to hurt. I groaned on a daily basis, and to impress Bob and his friends around him, I memorized over five hundred English words in a single week! After two weeks, studying excessively, I was able to surpass other students, impressing tons of teachers fraught with wonder and unimaginable amaze. I was glad that my distress came to be an achievement. After school, I went home, continually telling myself how significant it is to face adversity in life and the essence of using anger and hardship to get an opportunity. Not only is this the essence of challenging ourself but it also applies to the novel "Child 44" by Robinson.
Raisa, Leo's wife, lived almost like a slave following every order that Leo said, since he was in such a prestigious position in society. The situation, however, changed when the top official decided to kick him out, because of his arrogance to betray him. Leo felt irated because he had to lose all his power for his wife, but later on, he learns the significance of having hardship. Without it, he would have lived arrogantly throughout his entire life .Back then, when Leo sat in his couch relaxing, he never knew what was good and bad and merely used his authority to perish people, even those who have not done anything ominous.
It is significant to emphasize the fact that adversity is the key to achieve your dream. Without it, we would never be able to look at other's perspective or even realize who we are. Challenge and adversity writes our future, and being ease all the time, brings potential harm superficially and even inside us.

lol, repeated the question in the first sentence…what a newb.

I would say a 7/8. You need to develop your examples in more detail and howdoudo989 is right-I would strongly suggest that you don’t put your thesis at the very start of your essay! Develop your introduction further…I always take a slightly more general view and then immediately focus on my thesis, which I always put at the END of my introduction…you don’t have to but this is a very good idea. In addition to this, although I know that you are using a personal anecdote, try to avoid using “I” so much. How many practise essays have you done?
