the worst part of waiting for notification for early admission is definately lingering on the cc boards and gradually hearing each person report that they got notification that they got in via fed ex and then slowly realizing that if the mail doesnt come today that its a rejection or defferal in regular mail. i was lurking in the old archives, and i was like soooo nervous for them lol. sucks.

Well, I've heard we can always call - sure it wouldn't be as good as a fat package/envelope if you got in, but better than even more of a wait? Who knows. I'll be in Disney World on a family vacation until the 13th, so I may call from down there... which could be really good or really bad, I'll have to think about it o.0

Got a link to the old Stanford board?

-Ender

then individual schools, then US news top 25, then Stanford

or just the link at the bottom of the page that says college discussion archive.

yeah last year they got decisions on Dec 11th.

really? the 11th? think it will be that early this year?

i heard its the second friday of december that u can call.

I hope so, then again I'm a wuss. I fluxuate about five times a day between thinking I'll get in and thinking there's absolutely no chance. It's just so hard to tell...frusturating.

irock: how sure are you about that?

-Ender

Ender- i dont think it matters too much. just call on the 10th and see what happens. not like they'll rescind your acceptance if ur not allowed to call..

EnderWiggin - EXACTLY my thoughts. My brain just can't seem to handle real probability, just "definitely in" or "buried in the reject pile." But I've come to feel that maybe it's easier just to assume acceptance; it helps with confidence in the meantime. Even if you think you're not in, are you going to be less devastated if the rejection letter comes to your door?

I'm trying not to think about it as much as I possibly can. Needless to say, I'm failing miserably.... :-( I want Stanford.

So, I'm starting to back away from the hopes of going to Stanford. I applied for housing at my safety. But the annoying thing is that we don't find out until mid December, and by then most of my apps are due/already due, and so if I get in... all that time and application fees...waste. But I would totally be willing to lose that money if I got to go to Stanford!

Ignore me. I'm rambling.

Are you guys gonna wait for the decision before sending out backup applications? (incase of deferal or rejection...) Or are you gonna send out the motherload now?

I'm totally with you gengogakusha, I think assuming acceptance will help me get through the next 2-3 weeks of tests, projects, midterms, other apps, etc. And then if we're rejected we can just deal with it over winter break.

Reading the old boards is depressing as hell...All the people that get rejected/deferred...Uh oh.

its sooo depressing. have you read the yale ea thread? they all got deferred.

Yeah, that one's worse...

i can't find any of the old boards. I followed the links, i'm not that stupid but i can't find any old posts. can someone link me there directly?

yeah i can't find them either! bump...help...?

Ender help! :)
