the worst part is

Just click the link that's up above in this thread, then click "individual schools," then "US news top 25," then "Stanford."

-Ender

I think I'm retarded. I can't find teh links to the old forums at all. the oldest go back to last AUgust or something like that... oh well whatever

http://www.collegeconfidential.com/discus/messages/8/33.html
or
http://www.collegeconfidential.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?8/33

are there any threads about acceptances though...I didnt see any on there.

thanks....

np. so i gather the links worked?

The first thread I found after the EA decisions were on acceptances. I was thinking, "Wow, probably 95% of these CC people have been accepted! Maybe we really are above the curve!." But then I found the thread for rejected people. Ugh.

actually I didn't check to make sure they did. I was just going to looka t them this weekend

OMG do NOT, i repeat do NOT read any of the rejected threads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are so depressing it is unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!! now i know i am dead for sure...i sound exactly like these people!!!!!!!!!!! what on earth is the admissions committee looking for?!? i guess they want people who have cured cancer or something equally phenomenal. it seems like participating in sports is looked down upon if you aren't being recruited for stanford, even if you are fairly good (just not stanford caliber). ai yi yi yi yi!!!

found the accepted thread. a much happier place, i must say!!!

http://www.collegeconfidential.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?8/33

I read the rejected thread (well, the deferral one) and it helped to calm my hopes down a little. I'm thinking more realistically, but still have my fingers crossed. Sigh, two weeks, guys.

the rejected thread is death. just try to convince yourself that they were somehow very inferior to you. lol

Yayforcollege: im stupid so where is the acceptances thread on that board. That link goes to a board not a specific discussion...whats the name of the thread?

needhelp06:
hehe sorry, i am the stupid one!!! i copied the wrong URL :)
here is the right one...let's see if i get it right this time. if i don't get accepted into stanford, it's because i can't cut and paste...

http://www.collegeconfidential.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?8/33

ohhhhh...i see what's happening. cc is blanking out the middle of the address for some reason. where it reads ".com/...s/" it should really be ".com/cgi-bin/discus/"

hope that helps!

that link still takes me to the Stanford University Board. It doesn't link to a specific discussion...can you tell me the name of the acceptance thread on the stanford board?

okay good. I wasn't the only person who was having issues with the links. I found it eventually though. You just need to scroll around a bit.

sorry guys!!! okey doke here's what to do...

go to http://www.collegeconfidential.com/...s/show.cgi?8/33 (but put "/cgi-bin/discus" where there is "/...s/"

scroll down to the very bottom link to "2004 archive." click on that.

search for "ACCEPTED!!" on the page using ctrl f (it's pretty close to the bottom of the page. the date it was updated last was 4/06)

that is one of the happy acceptance threads i found. there are others on this page too, such as "So, what did Robin Mamlet write on your acceptance letter?"

let me know if it works!!! sorry for the horrible instructions!!
