<p>Does anyone have any experience with the theater department at Hampshire, particularly in acting? Thanks.</p>

<p>Our daughter has acted, directed and written plays at Hampshire. She tells me that because most of the productions are fully student-run, there are more opportunities for students to participate. <p>Ask Liev Schreiber, he went to Hampshire in the 80s.</p>

<p>Lupita Nyong’o, 2014 Golden Globe nominee (“12 Years a Slave”) is a Hampshire grad too.</p>

<p>And, she just won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress!</p>

<p>My son is over the moon about this - I think everyone in theater at Hampshire is. What a huge accomplishment! Jonathan Kitzen, another Hampshire grad, also won an Oscar for best documentary short! Pretty amazing what a tiny little school can do.</p>

<p>You would also be able to take any acting class and audition for any production in the Five College Consortium. .</p>

<p>^^^ so very true! My son is a third year student and probably has taken as many theater classes at Amherst College as he has at Hampshire. He’s also acted in several plays at Amherst. There are so many wonderful opportunities there.</p>

<p>If you’re a guy they probably need you for productions at Smith and Mt. H too!</p>
