I’m really bummed because I got a Juilliard callback in NY (didn’t make the final round but I’m still thankful for the experience) and then I just found out I didn’t get a Rutgers callback. I only applied to a few programs so I’m actually really upset to be honest. I don’t know what to think. Plus I felt so good about my Rutgers audition. And the fact that I didn’t even make the callbacks, much less get in, makes me feel like I don’t stand a chance anywhere else.
@kjd111 Congrats! How did you hear from Pace? And when did you audition? Thank you!
Thank you actingmajormom. They emailed her almost the next week. She auditioned in Texas I think (It may have been NY, I can’t remember - but I think it was in Texas). She is very excited about both. This whole process is so strange for those of us (me) not in the know about this business. She got through the initial callback at Julliard but didn’t make the Guthrie one that she felt so good about, but then got very quick offers from Royal Welsh and Pace. I don’t get it.
Yes! Exactly! So weird. I don’t know if you saw my post but I got a Juilliard callback as well and didn’t get a Rutgers callbacks. I just don’t get it. And I felt so good about my audition. I’m so confused and honestly pretty upset. I just hope I get in somewhere. Congrats to your daughter though thats fantastic!

I think the overall message is that different schools want different things, despite the perceived selectiveness of the school. This is truly an unpredictable process which weighs in so many subjective factors it is impossible to truly calculate the outcomes for one school based on the outcome for another.
I know. It’s just so hard. Like I felt so great about my audition and it sucks to not get any feedback you know? Like I really don’t know what I could have done differently/better. Oh well.
Chin up @Igr915 - keep believing in yourself! Where are you still waiting to hear from?
Thank you. I’m just feeling really discouraged. I’m trying to still have hope though. I’m still waiting on UNCSA, USC, CMU, and I have Purchase coming up.
@lgr915, I think more people feel the way you do than the opposite. It’s a stressful time, that’s for sure! We all just need to hang in there! Then, as hard as this is to remember at this time, everyone should try keep in mind that there are many avenues towards great things in theatre/acting! (As a sign of how crazy this all is, I hesitate to post that last sentence for fear of jinxing my D! Ugh!)
Haha no I totally agree. It’s just hard for me to see any other alternative right now. I don’t know. It’s just hard. I’m really praying I get in somewhere. I don’t know what I would do if I don’t
I can not begin to understand why one selective school likes a student, and another, perhaps less selective school does not. This process is very strange. I think we all just need to hold onto our hats and wait until it’s over before taking stock. We have had some interesting twists and turns along the way here as well. Lots of luck to everyone, and congratulations to those already accepted.
OK Folks- Please remember to copy the LAST posted list when adding your information. We keep loosing names.

Try not to be too discouraged or read into the schools where you’re not accepted - I know it is so hard not to. But having gone through this process, I can tell you that it honestly could have zero to do with how talented you are, and just be that a certain school has too many of one type, or is looking for more guys or more girls that particular year, or who knows what. There are just so many variables. Lgr915, if you got a call back at Julliard you must have something pretty good going for you. Hang in there!
thank you. i really hope so. I’m trying to keep hope
lgr915, what schools did you apply to and where are you now? You mentioned you were possibly transferring. Congratulations on the Julliard call-back. Even though it didn’t go further, that was a great honor.

@kjd111 - wow!! Fantastic!!
Woot! Woot!
Thank you everyone. I was so excited about this one because half my mom’s family went to Michigan, but unfortunately D doesn’t seem super interested in them. She says the acting is sort of second fiddle to the MT and so they are below her other choices right now. I’m hoping maybe if we visit, she will change her mind. Stubborn kid.
