<p>Aspiring, I pm’d you…but will tell you here also he applied in Nov, did a scheduled audition at NYC unifieds, was accepted into the theatre program about 2 weeks ago, then we found out he was accepted academically today. Hope this helps…</p>
<p>I did a walk in this year was Accepted on the spot to the Theatre Dept. and was told to get in my Application to Montclair ASAP.</p>
<p>Thanks everyone! I did a walk-in to Montclair at Unifieds, and was wondering whether I would hear back if I was artistically accepted if I had not applied academically yet. I think I’ll go ahead and apply academically just to be safe (and I’ll have to scrounge up some more application fee money!) Thanks, and congratulations on everyone’s acceptances!</p>
<p>Aspiring, call them immediately and find out if it is too late to apply. They will not accept you (technically) unless you have applied to the college.</p>
<p>March 1st is Montclairs deadline but, they do take them later if they accept your letter of appeal.</p>
<p>Correction: D not accepted into BFA acting program at NIU (yet). We received acceptance notifications via email and a packet indicating a scholarship award but just received an email indicating they will send out notices in a few weeks about the BFA. Sorry for the confusion. Academic acceptances don’t mean BFA acceptances. So we wait…</p>
<p>Congratulations to everyone on this thread who has received acceptance notification! There are some impressive schools listed here! I have a question for everyone. Has anyone heard when a lot of the Musical Theatre and Acting programs will let people know of acceptance? My D auditioned for several schools in Chicago at The Unified Auditions. I know we aren’t alone, but, the waiting is making us a little crazy.</p>
<p>My D was accepted academically and did not receive any academic merit awards despite strong stats. As an OOS family, we decided she would not audition. Although, now that I think about it, they may offer talent awards.</p>

<p>As a state school, Montclair offers minimal talent scholarship $. Academic merit awards are offered for high scoring SATs/ACTs and GPAs. Last year, S was accepted with half-tuition (in state) scholarship with a 4.0 GPA and 32 ACT/1980 SAT. Felt the acadic scholarship offer was rather low considering stats. He was rejected from the BFA MT program and decided against the BA Theater major. </p>
<p>Once enrolled, there are other departmental/university scholarship opportunities (up to $1,000) for students.</p>

<p>momintex-- most schools will send out notifications in late March. A few places do rolling admission, but by now the EA and ED notifications are out and the waiting for regular decision has begun. You can check the websites for your particular schools if you’re anxious-- (and who wouldn’t be anxious!)</p>
<p>Also, Montclair does offer EA option, otherwise admission to school is rolling. Acceptance to BFA programs is also offered on a rolling basis.</p>
