Has anyone hear from CMU yet on straight bfa acting?

NCSA is killing me too! when will they just stop making us all anxious and get on with it!

NCSA just e-mailed me saying they are in the process of getting their letters out.

hopefully "in the process" means i will get my ncsa letter this week.

i'm also waiting on calarts. has anyone heard from them?

travelling, i have a friend who got into acting bfa at cmu (she got a phone call), but i have a LOT of other friends who tried out and have not heard anything yet.

Just curious-was your friend male or female?

every person that i hear that gets into CMU is another stab of hope leaving me. hahaha. are they calling everyone you think?

My son got a phone call that he was accepted into the CMU acting program a couple of weeks ago, and as of yesterday it was posted on the website. We have not yet received anything in the mail.
I don't know if they handled all acceptances the same way, or if they have notified everyone yet.

Have any CMU BFA MT appilcants been notified???? This process is worse then root canal!

Yes, read the MT Forum. Some learned via phone, some online and not all at the same time. It's not over until you get notified!

travelling-- female

CMU has so far notified roughly 20 people for both their drama and mt programs. They notify people in waves the first was last week, this week is another and next week is the last. They accepted 10 MT majors and 18 drama. I hope that helps.

I was wondering how you had such detailed figures about CMU. I hope you would put this data out there if it were not fact checked. The last thing we need is kids getting their hearts broken on bad data.

While it is a fact that CMU aims to accept 10 for MT and 18 for Drama (I've heard this directly at auditions), I can't imagine how you know how many they have notified so far. Who released that data and where did you hear it?

Do any of you know about Hofstra's BFA Acting program? My D was accepted to their Theater Studies program (non-audition). Students audition in their freshman year to get into the BFA Acting program. We visited there last fall and saw a terrific production and thought the acting was great. I would appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks.

Whats happening with CMU MT. We seemed to know that some have been accepted already but has anyone gotten a rejection yet? Also have the letters from Itahca and Emerson gone out yet. We are still waiting.

You can check Ithaca online by going to the MyIthaca link. My d has not gotten her letter from them but the decision was on line. Some people have heard from Emerson which supposedly sent its letters this week. We haven't gotten anything yet though!

Does anyone know anything about Hofstra's theater program?

For the record Rutgers told me that they auditioned 566 students for BFA Acting accepted 28 and waitlisted 29 this year.

WOW. Thanks for the numbers, Wally.
