A friend of mine is interested in a gap year program for her son combining theatre and community service. She heard about one a few years ago and can't find any information on it. Does anyone know of such a thing? It might be musical theatre, not just theatre.

Thanks so much!

I’m not sure what you mean by “gap year program.” At least on this forum, a gap year is when a musical theatre prospective decides to put off going to college for a year, continues his/her training, and reauditions the next season.

Sort of what I meant… I originally posted in the Parents Forum, and they suggested I post here. By gap year program, I meant putting off going to college for a year and doing something else as an opportunity to just grow up a bit and/or expand horizons before starting college.

The student will not be majoring in theater, but has always been very active in it, and this would be an interesting way to grow / expand.

Thanks!
