I just completed my first semester at Columbia College Chicago. I am a theater major and I plan to continue in that, but I want to transfer to a better school to get a more well-rounded education. Vassar is my dream school, though I know their transfer admission rate is extremely low.

My high school GPA was a 3.99, I scored a 33 on my ACT, and I took 4 AP courses. I have been and am currently involved in extracurriculars (mostly pertaining to my major), and my current college GPA is a 3.94 after one semester. Unfortunately, almost all of my first semester classes were theater classes, because my current school is extremely arts-based. Will that look bad to a college that expects a well-rounded student? Also, what will admissions officers think if my recommendations are from theater professors?

I would greatly appreciate some input as to my chances of getting into a better school. Also, I would love any suggestions for other schools that I should look into. Thank you!
