Theater

Does anyone know anything about Swarthmore's theatre program/performance opportunities for NON-majors? I'm definitely applying - most likely ED - and am hoping to make theatre a significant part of my extra-curricular life in college (and not just acting - playwriting, directing, etc).

Any info would be greatly appreciated! :)

There are both student produced drama productions and theatre department productions. I'm not sure how many opportunities there are in the department productions for non-majors (I'm sure there are some, though), but I know that the student productions are open to everyone and anyone. Here's a link to the student run drama board (although the content is a little old): http://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/org/dramaboard/Swarthmore%20College%20Drama%20Board/begin.html

There are plenty of opportunities for majors and non-majors alike. Non-majors can take practical classes like Acting and can audition for all of the student productions (not sure about department productions). In addition, Directing classes are always in need of actors for their final projects (scene work). It's not hard to get into theatre at all.
